Looking at the other thread there appears to be a view developing that the 2005 ring event should an F car only event. I personally felt that people should bring whatever car they like and make it an F-Chat gathering.

I fancy taking my RS6 for a blast around the ring and I know that SteveP (as I recall ) fancies taking his Audi as well.

I am sure that there are other F-Car owners who want to take their everyday cars for a blast as well as F-Chat members who don't actually own a Ferrari yet.

As I have not yet been to the ring we will need to enlist the help of someone who has in order to put together a plan and I wandered what the interest level would be in have a trip like this.

    regards
    James

Would prefer to take my Aston than the 328 - much more comfortable. Tentative in.

I heard stories of bikers being flung into the woods, and their bodies being found weeks later by sniffer dogs...

all cars are welcome, if fchat want a ferrari only gathering thats fine too, but the track will have lots of other cars on anyway, take it easy and the ring is fairly safe, its when you get over confident

All racing circuits are potentially dangerous and by their very nature hazardous. The Ring more so than any other. There are no marshals, no fire points, if there is an /incident they are made aware of it by a car passing the said and reporting it at the start / finish. Thats if you can get by the carnage. Work out the response times.
I love the Nurburgring and have been several times without personal incident but without exception there were major s on every visit including one . MOTOR SPORT IS DANGEROUS but we love it.

I think there is one serious accident per week at the ring. That biker story is probably true.

Cant wait to do it though.

There is a group of around 15 of us doing a 4-day mini-Hoon across to Germany in April. That will include the Ring. We'll have Ferrari, TVR, Porsche and Astons amongst the crowd. Really looking forward to it :)

Wouldn't mind taking my VXR220 for a blast there - last time I went round it was in my 124 Spider Abarth which was 'an experience'!!
