My 328 GTS got a leak this morning but it is not a puddle just small amount. I had it wiped out already and will go back tonight to see whether it is still dripping or not. Is this serious? Where do I have to look in this case? I have been told that if the oil level is still between min/max level and oil pressure reacts when driving then it is nothing to worry. I am no mechanic and do not know much about technical stuff so your advice would be very appreciated.
Check the oil coler lines. for a car that year, it is a typical problem. You can use the existing fittings and have a hose shop make a couple new ones... You can do this yourself. If that isn't it, it could be the distributor seals. Again not a hard fix.
Oil leaks are common in 328's as well as most Ferraris. Usually they occur only when the car is running and immediately after shutting down. There are many places they could come from, including cam seals, main seals, shift shaft seals, cam covers, etc. Unless they get severe or leak onto something that could be damaged (like clutch or belts) then I would not worry. If you put any 328 on a lift, very very few would be completely "dry" underneath. Also, some leaks come and go. Often after a car has sat a while, it will leak but then stop after regular use. Dave
Are you sure it is motor oil? It is also common for the shift shaft seals to fail, and develop a slow leak from the transaxle. Either way, not to worry, but do check the oil more frequently, and the transaxle once or twice per year.
