i got relative there that got the chinese food part covered, whats the hot western places? preferably french? went to m on the bund last yr it was so so.

 

There's a good restaurant across the street from M. I think there are two restaurants in that building. We usually go to New Heights, on the top floor. There's also a Jean-Georges there. There are also some good restaurants in the JinMao Tower. Can't remember if they are French or Italian.

M is over rated. Jean George is over rated. The Italian place in the Jin Mao is over rated if you are a local (exactly how many times have we been there this year, 20?). There is a good Italian place in Xintiandi (Va Bene) and the place has a non Chinese atmosphere (its were all of the expats hang out on the weekend).

My dad is retired, so if anyone needs to speak with somone about playing golf, eating well, reading the newspaper or how to take a nap, he's your man. I'm trying to follow in his footsteps . . . but it ain't working as well.

 

My daddy is deceased. Croaked when I was 20, that's the 2nd best thing he did for me. I inherited $160k from that. Never knew him, he split when I was 3 months old. As for what he did... well he didn't do very much. His grandfather did a lot, worked with Thomas Edison and invented some cool stuff....

Mini employees love their cars a bit to much, Land Rover employees really loved their product before Ford--funny they liked the cars better when they broke more... The sad fact is to most people working at a car company it's just a product........
