Oh and by the way even if pics do not do the car justice, the pic you sent me is fantasic. http://hq.mkgcs.com/photoroom/tricks.aspx?cmd=2&a=6&i=0 hope you do not mind me taking the liberty of sharing. ///MK
Thanks for posting the pict. I'll call you soon. So far so good, its been 4 days with no mechanical defects...I couldnt say that for any of my new ferrari/lambo experiences but will it (and transmission) stand the test of time? day 2 355 spider - parking brake stuck day 4 355 spider - roof won't open day 2 512TR - passenger B.S. electric seatbelt gets stuck day 2 Countach - stranded somewhere in Upper Marboro, MD at midnight with no power at all. day 5 LM - Alpine falls out completely. and please realize that these were brand new cars from the dealer.
New germans is not any better than italian cl600 in shop already Ignition coil? Bmw 745 and m5's could fill a book with what went wrong in the first couple of months alone (multiple engine lites sensors computer glitched clutch etc) Suprisingly 2002 Viper never had to go to shop (I miss her dearly) and our Bmw 323i never had to go to shop. maybe I should consider a Brit. ///MK
I've heard about this problem in the S600 as well. I think it is a known problem, FYI....... What yr.?
Mk...how about a little help and telling us where the Ford GT is on display? I assume it was in Maryland...maybe Gaithersdurg area. I would like to take my 12 year old daughter out to see it on Saturday. Should be a nice day to drive my Ferrari or Viper. It will save me some time calling around. Thanks --Bob
Bob PM me your email and I think I can do one better for you. ///MK and for whatever it is worth I still live in Chantilly.
I just looked at my work schedule. I'd love to go, however, I am scheduled to work until 9pm that day. I will see if I can arrange a schedule change.
Nigel- Congrats on the car. I have to see it sometime soon. I love the color. MK- You can start a dealship at your house. Its like a car show with new cars every week!! As for me guys...I am looking at an e46 M3 right now. Ill keep you guys posted Antony
Well I survived the SEMA show, a little too much blood in my alcohol system, I saw tons of the GT's (Ford and Bentley). I know of the dealer you talked about that turned down the offer. Some one had posted earlier, that they did the same thing with the Tbird, and many sit. Keep in mind that the market is what one will pay, all it takes is one person to pay a ton and its all over from there. Look at the homerun baseballs now. I think the ford GT is a great throwback machine, they have done much in the retro styling and are answering public demand. I also dont think that certain dealers finance the cars on their lots, many of the dealers own the cars and therefore can sell it for what they wish.
Anyone who would pay even sticker for this crude attempt at nostalgia deserves what he gets- J-U-N-K! Sorry, This one won't make the classic list.
