I drive my Mondial 12 months a year in upstate NY, so I am a bit of an expert on all weather tires for Ferraris. I've been running Continentals Etreme Contacts on my car and am very pleased with them. I am on my 2nd set of fronts and my third set of rears. Previously I ran Pirelli P-7000's.

The Conti's were the right choice for me for several reasons. Because I put 12,000-20,000 miles per year on the car, cost and treadware were considerations. For the fronts, 205/55/16 they were $78.00 each from Tirerack and the rears, 225/55/16, were $73.00 each. I get 13,000 miles from the rears and 26,000 miles from the rears. They are VR rated and excellent in the heaviest of rain and very good in the dry. Although I can't "push snow" with them, they can handle a few inches without any problem.

If you use your Ferrari often and in all types of weather, you should give them a try.

I sincerely hopes this helps someone make an informed decision on tires.

Just an update. This morning it was raining heavily. The route I had to take literally had streams running across the road. Aquaplaning was non-existent and the Mondial handled beautifully.

What about the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires?

I believe they are the only ZR-rated tires that made for and are excellent in the rain and can be used in the snow and cold weather.

I am now running Pilot Sport A/S on the Mondial 3.2; 225/50-17 front and 245/45-7 rear; Very nice and quite secure in the rain; no snow yet. Better ride than similar sized Bridgestone RE-71s and easier steering, good response and similar grip. Maintains good grip in cold weather!
A bit high, but very happy so far. Good service fom Tire Rack.

The Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S seems to get great reviews on www.tirerack.com. I would look into them. I am not sure if they make them in the sizes you need but hopefully they do. They are priced at roughly $100 per tire.

    Here is a link:

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Nero+M%26S&partnum=055WR60NMS&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes

They seem to provide similar performance, good wet and snow traction for about half the cost of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I used to own the P7000 Pirelli tire you mentioned on my previous car and I was not satisfied with them at all. The P Zero Nero appears to be much better.

Thanks guys, but i'll stick with my Contis. If you look at Tirerack's comparison, the only all season, ultra-high performance tire that was better than the Continental Extreme Contact was the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S at nearly 3X the price and a lower tread life.

Even though I have the Pilots, I'd agree on the Contis for the money. The advantage I saw with the Pilots was they had the size I was looking for.
    Have fun!

    Russ,

How can you NOT have fun in a Mondial. :)

I'm sticking with the stock sizes , so it wasn't an issue for me.

By the way, I always get a kick from your location. My Mondi came from San Antonio 4 years ago. How's that Mexican restaurant on the River Walk doing ?

Mexican restaurant? In San Antonio? Where?
    :)
It's doing as well as that Italian restaurant in New York.
    :)
