I'm up to 180 mi already, and BOY does that thing get loud, in the upper 1/2 of the rev range! Gotta love it! Also, it seems as though something's happening at about 4500 rpms, when the engine sound changes, as if a 2nd intake opens up or something. What is that? HAving some difficulty getting smooth low to mid rev range shifts. Guess that takes parctice. I do know I need to snap the shift lever, and not pull back on it slowly. That helps some. Only twice grabbed a downshift when reaching for the turn signal today, once it revved pretty high. OOPS! Gotta teach my brain how these shift paddles work. Found I got distracted when Joyce, my Arabian horse trainer lady friend was conversing with me. Anyway, more impressions to come later, but I wanted to post these more tasteful pics I grabbed just before sunset. btw, I did finally find the gas lid & the boot release. There were 3 items in there, an apparent car cover in a duffle, and 2 more leather covered items, I assume they're the tools and spare parts? HO and PS, I'll get some more interior shots soon, I just wanted you all to see the seats. Need to use a wideer angle lens.

    It is a gorgeous car!

Now you need to watch other drivers who are gawking at your car.

Absolutely f*ckin gorgeous! The CS is ages ahead of the F430 in terms of styling.

Congrats, and enjoy in good health!

BTW: You need to update your profile now ;)

Thnx Nick, yes the gawking has begun in earnest, and I'm not at all comfortable with it. I know, it comes with the territory, right? Getting tint done on Mon, so that'll ease my own self-concsiousness to some degree. Still undecided on shade, but am still leaning towards the light mirror finish film.
Speaking of gawking, the 1st night @12AM, the lst mile before reaching home, a car drives up behind me, then pulled up next to me on a 2-laner, then droppped back into my blind spot, and followed me for a mile like that in the opposing lane! At 1st I thought it was a cop, only to discover it was a 20 y.o. Ford Escort! Punks!!

Your car is beautiful, enjoy it! I have a question on the color. It looks different from the silver color they are using in the pictures for the F430- is there a difference? Sorry, right now I cannot locate a picture of the silver F430.

    Best Regards,
    Jerry

This color is Titanium much darker than the traditional silver. Now, there is a new 430 color called, I think, Silverstone, and it's similar to Titanium, even better, I think.

That higher pitch you hear in the upper rpm's is the exhaust. It opens up, a "flap" if you will. Someone that has a CS can give better details on it.

No, this sound is generated at around 4500 rpms. It's not the exhaust bypass opening up @6k. It's more of an intake sound.

Beautiful car and very tasteful choices on the colors. The black leather and the silver calipers give it a very understated look, if that possible (!). Enjoy her in good health.

Silverstone is WAY darker than Titanium. Titanium is closer to Argento Silver than Silverstone is to Titanium. Silverstone is more of a charcoal gray.

i've owned three modenas and two stradales. i hate to tell you this, but in my experience it's inevitable that you will have some "teething pains" with your new stradale. nothing serious. the stradale is the best ferrari ever IMHO. but you can bet you a couple little things will crop up in the first couple thousand miles that you'll want ferrari to fix. for instance, if you open the engine cover lid and look down at your exhaust you'll see that there are two thin metal shields on each side of the silencer. one of my shields developed a crack which resulted in a very annoying intermittent vibration type of sound at various RPMs. it was not a serious problem at all. but it was not clear exactly what was causing the vibration so i took it to the dealer. they found the problem in 10 seconds :) now it's been two months waiting for FNA to send them a new exhaust shield. fortunately it's only a cosmetic piece of metal (to hide the rusty exhaust bolts) so i don't mind waiting. i guess the point i'm trying to make is that if you don't have a few minor issues int he first couple thousand miles i'll be very surprised :)

also, as for any hope of maintaining a low profile in your stradale forget it. you'll have people follow you (like you've experienced already) and even hang out their windows with cameras taking your picture while you are driving down the freeway :) people (especially teenager boys) will pull up along side you and scream and yell in excitement...i can't blame them because i feel the same way when i see a ferrari :) have fun and enjoy your stradale. it's a very special car. although the F430 will surely be a great car it is not "purpose built" like the stradale and there will eventually be about 10,000 of them on the road.
