You could sell the seats alon on ebay for thousands. Just make sure you put the word "bling" in the auction title I like ostrich boots too, but seats? gimme a break.
Please don't tell me thats a REAL 512M (the one where there is ONLY 75 of) Someone PLEASE tell me thats some sort of conversion!!!!!
Looks like fun as long as it doesn't rain. Does it have any top mechanism? Without a top it might drive you crazy. I remember the threads on the 550 Barchetta's poor top and how it really detracted from the fun of wanting to take it on long rides where you might run into problematic weather. With regard to the interior, instead of tearing it out you might want to have it dyed black. This might tone it down a bit. See: http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=278463&cat=10&val=100 Or you could go the other direction and dye them a burgundy color. If you cant refinish the wheels you will have to bury them in the same place you bury the shift knob. Good luck
Senor Tyson needs to severly punished for doing that to a 512M. I'll have to agree with the others, lose the interior COMPLETELY, refinish the wheels to their proper colors, and buy a Ferrari shift knob. I think the engine swap w/ the race car is a good idea too!
Three advise to you Will : Get it Get it Get it Buy the car for the mechanical aspects, not the cosmetics. You can easily change the interior, re-paint the wheels, etc. Those are simple things.
Ostrich is leather with a serious wart complex. 512M was always a strange, disproportionate car with confused styling, but this takes the tops. Omar: *sweet* looking 355! --Dan
This only proves that even though your are very long on cash, you can be very short on sense... /Peter
William, not only would this car be good for you, you would be good for the car. Please buy this and modify it so that it's true potential can be seen.
The Slutmobile LOL What is a reasonable offer on this car ? It cost $300k to build, the owner paid $210 seven years ago & wants his $ back ROFL THATS not gonna happen, at least not with me Bcus I want the $150k back on my Countach & the $72k back on my 308 but thats wont happen either unless Santa is in a very good mood this XMas So he turned down $105 at an auction & I can get a perfectly good Modena spyder for 180k , A nice stock 512M ranges between $130-150. Also IT HAS NO TOP, ZERO, ZIP, NADA So if it rains I'll have to have some sort of Jeep Bikini top to throw up & it has been known to rain here in Miami It does have twin turbos from Norwood, Perhaps the plan was to outrun the storm? So with all those parameters in mind what would you, reasonable, offer for the slutmobile ?
He shouldn't have turned down the $105k. I wouldn't pay 512M money for it, for that much $$ I'd just buy the 512M.
Me too... There's something very mystical about Testarossa, 512 TR and F512M convertibles... i think i could even look past the interior, just to be able to drive around in a topless TR/F512M...
It would be nice for all chatters to put some money together and buy this ugly beast and then decide if we want to restore it or burn it, Ferrari world doesn't need pimp looking cheap azz crap like that driving around. The norwood twin turbo flat 12 that we can put to good use. If you want a real nice looking convertible Testarossa then find a Straman conversion.
Nah, the steering wheel is on the wrong side on that one, how much do you think THAT would cost to fix.
Here is a 512TR Turbo convert. that also had Ostrich skin interior. This picture was taken on Rodeo drive in '94 or '95.
Ummmm....YES, those seats are VERY Testarossa. That car has some Koenig styling as well. Rakes gone... not DOT legal in USA (Technically speaking) Something that a majority of the donut task force doesn't know.
Marine pilots need to see the traffic on the starboard side when pulling out of port... or when hotties are boarding on port side, he can see them standing on the pier and walking on the boat all in one shot, that way he doesn't have to turn his head back and fourth.
so you can feel all those bumps in your butt It would probably cause you an insatiable craving for fried chicken LOL
I'm not in love with the Ostrich skin, but I'd probably keep it if I bought the car. The car looks awesome, but: 1) How sturdy is the conversion - much cowl shake or not? 2) How strong is the engine - need a rebuild in the near future? 3) How often does it rain by you - do you really need a top? If the answers are good to these questions, BUY THE CAR, change the wheels and deal with seats I would offer around 120-130 for the car - it is definitely one of a kind, and it must be fast. Best of luck with it! David
