Nothing i tried worked - not that i tried anything beyond what you did...

However, you could always call Nextel as a last-ditch effort, if no one else posts here with an idea... Call them up, 800.639.6111 or 800.639.8359, and tell them you're John Smith from ABC Packaging Corp. (or whatever) and that and important client called you from this number (317-710-6301) and left his name but the message started breaking up when he left his name and that you can't call this guy back and not know his name or it'll cost you the account - can they please give you his name...? Hopefully, you'll get someone stupid who will actually release this information to you... The odds of this actually pulling through in your favor are pretty slim...

Rather than a business angle, you could always call Nextel and tell them you're in the middle of nowhere and your brother is following you in a separate car and you too got lost and you're having trouble calling his phone; could they please tell if 317-710-6301 is still working...? By some slim chance, the operator might give you the name of the person to whom that number belongs to...

Like i said, these are pretty flimsy idea, but it's late and i don't know **** else to say...

In my personal experience, this infomation cannot be provided by a carrier. Unless they have a lapse in their concentration like Carbon has pointed out. The only way that this information could have a possibility of being given out is through an investigation by the police. And even then, the police act on their own accord so the chances of you finding out who the person is, is still pretty slim.
Well that is how it works here in Aust.

The person possibly lives in Marion County in Indianapolis.

That might shed some light onto the whereabouts of this person...

If you know someone with a cell provider they could look it up and if it is their number they could tell you who it is. They arent supposed to but.....

You could try paying off the guy at the cell store

 

If you know a cop they can do it or a PI(private investigator) for a fee. They have online services that'll do it too. Call the guy up and pretend you know who he is and tell him to knock if off cause you've gone to the cops and they're aware of it. Call the cops anyway and say that this guy made "terrorist threats" and they should take notice. Good luck.

 

I run a bunch of tmobile stores..if it was tmobile...i could look it up...but here is how you can get it done (as i have done it because a guy stole a phone from us but we had some info on him). File a police report, if you call Nextel with the officer present next to the phone and tell them that the officer needs their info to pursue the suspect...they will give their info over the phone. They gave me this guys social, DL#, everything, and the cops were able to trace him down from that point.

 

If nothing else, try calling his phone from a pay phone in the middle of the night... his voice mail will likely give you his name. On the off chance that he answers, be prepared with something that might get him to say his name, but otherwise keeps him none the wiser... "(friendly tone)Hey, this is Joe... we were expecting you an hour ago." "Uh, I think you have the wrong number..." "Yeah right <chuckle>, who is this?" Ideally, have a lady friend with a sexy voice make the call... you might get more info that way.

If you get his name, depending upon what it is, it may be easy to find the rest of the info and then ultimately verify his cell number matches.

 

Have a female friend call and say that she works for the National Telemarketing Survey group out of Wichita or wherever, and just needs to fill in the first and last name before sending it on to the national database for the "Do Not Call" list.

 

It appears to be a Nextel phone out of their Indianapolis location.............come on guys were getting closer.
