    Hey Ton,

It was god to talk with you "live" on this topic yesterday! Thanks for the call. It's clear that our thinking is more or less the same on this matter!

Don't know yet...had a guy from Germany round on Saturday. He liked the car a lot, but because of import duty for him its top of his price range. He'll get back to me next week once he's worked out the numbers.

I was talking to two Ferrari dealers recently and there is no movement in Fcars here in Switzerland at the moment...I don't mean they are only selling a few cars...they have sold none for weeks. This is good if you want to buy and have cash, but for me I'm happy to wait. After Xmas should pick up again. There are 360's and 550's here in CH for 110,000Chf, dirt cheap.

When I sold my 328 the guy told me the same story about the car being at the top of his budget. I waited for two weeks for him to arrange his numbers. Eventually he came back and bought the car.

    Good luck Simon

Yeah, the problem is when you already have a car and want to sell it. Switzerland is a closed market with the barrier of import duties to the EU, which makes it uneconomical to export expensive cars. On the other hand, the market is absolutely flooded with supercars - there are 5 pages of F355s and 6 pages of F360 on the swiss autoscout24 website, including at least 10 Challenge Stradales... Two weeks ago I was talking to an Italian Ferrari dealer who is desperate for well-priced Stradales, in the EU they are impossible to find while in Switzerland they go for less than 140.000 Euros!

Basically there are more cars than there are buyers, and rich people in Switzerland don't bother with used cars - they just go out and buy new ones. Which means that 550s, 360s and 355s are absolutely unsellable right now: there are a couple of as-new Modena F1s for sale for months at main dealers for 90.000 Euros or less, but nobody buys them. Why? Because dealers will give you **** for your trade in - I've learned it the hard way and I'm keeping my F355 until something really, really good comes along. Hey, in the end if these people want to start moving the market they will have to swallow some of their fat profits and accept decent trade-ins. The swiss market as it is now is completely dead. ;-(

    Patrick,

I saw that BB on mobile.de
I have to admit that I already looked at it several times. I just don't know what to do. Go for the old stuff or go for the new stuff.

    Thanks.

I want a 512TR and so do you Ton! I may be a few years behind you though.

    Don't know if you've seen this one: http://www.biline.dk/dennigcars.org/is/engelsk/car.asp?id={5B67B065-9D9C-11D7-8E7E-0010A7138F91}

    Mark,

Wolfgang already called to the specific dealer with the cheap TR for me. It is a funny story. What worries me about the car is that it is already for sale for more than a month for this cheap price. Something wrong with the car?

    Ton,

maybe cheap for a 512TR but E 49.950,= is still a high amount of money.
These cars are not sold everyday. A Ferrari for sale for a month is not long, even with a low price. Maybe with a low price everybody is more worried about what could be wrong wih this car.

No, I dont know the 512TR.
Maybe cause its in Zwickau (ex. DDR)?
    Maybe too much pre owners?
Needs a big +10K service, he mention this in the advertise.
Anyway its still a pretty good price!!!!

If you can't get both, follow your heart. It's a very emotional decision.
    - 512 BBi , black: How ultracool is that in your town?
    - 512 TR, red: very macho :)

(TR engine out service etc. is already dicussed ...)

go for it (or the other)

Debra does not like the Testarossa / 512. With 50% of the partnership having a negative disposition, I wonder if I'd be wise to follow the 12-cylinder route at this stage?

I have NEVER owned a new car in my life, and I'd like to have that experience one day (i.e. the newest car I have bought was 6 years old, namely my Alfa Spider). So maybe I'll have to consider one of the recent models in the years to come. But I guess a new 430 will be out of the question....so it looks like I may have to consider a pre-owned, low-km 355 or 360.

    I don't know - I'll watch & wait for a while!

    MARK
