I hate when the NYC cops do that sh*t so early in the morning when no one is on the road and they just want to bust your balls. I would imagine the sight of you guys alone drew their attention. Time to get on the phone with Frank the "ticket guy". :-(
This is true. My neighbor was a state trooper for years and years, he didn't give me a PBA card, but a pin that only the state troopers themselves have, or something along those lines. He also gave me his badge number, a bunch of state trooper stickers and gave me specific instructions on how to go about presenting them. More or less ask if they honor the PBA card or what not because most troopers have a mic or what not. I guess just whipping them out doesn't cut it nowadays.
My Dad had a close friend (since deceased) who was the Newark,NJ police captain, commander of the bomb squad, all kinds of sick sh*t. He gave me a Captain's badge pin, PBA card with his home phone number on it (day or night), little wallet with honorary deputy or something crazy, etc. This must have been rare because after looking at I actually had a few cops ask me if I was a cop! LOL. One cop told me "if your friend is sick enough to be on the bomb squad, I am letting you off!".
yo f0cking playa hatin 5-0 are takin the hate game to the next level zen! i got 2 tix on monday night and was not gonna talk about it, then got 3 more strikes within 24 hrs, now i am p1ssed! 1) monday night back from very east end of LI, in my M3 on LIE at exit 62, saw the cop in the left lane, i was seriously going with the traffic flow at about 75, i made sure i was not faster than the cars next to me since i knew the cop was right there. cop changed lane to get behind me and turned on the lights, he asked me if i knew why i was pulled over, i said "sure cuz i was going the same speed as everyone else". he obviously wasnt thrilled with the answer, wrote me up for 2 tix, speeding 75 in 55, and operating vehicle in unsafe manner, asked him how it was unsafe, he refused to answer. what a ****. 2) tuesday noontime, drove the F355 to china embassy to pick up my visa. parked in front of the embassy on westside highway, in the no parking zone, i was in the car, engine on, wife ran in. traffic cop came up to me, wrote me up. i told him he should learn the difference between "no parking" and "no standing" before he gets a job writing dem tix. then on the way home traffic was a b1tch on 2nd ave so i had to take midtown tunnel, followed close to the car in front of me, did not get stopped. thought i was off the hook, when i got out of tunnel and approah the toll booth, got waved to stop, no front plate tix, cop told me the cop at the entranced radio'ed the toll booth to get me. 3) picking up my mail at the old house in queens, ran a yellow, nailed by unmarked undercover. btw, talk is cheap, got the pic of the 3 moving violation tix. the no plate and no standing i man'ed up and paid to play. Dayum, that really sucks! I haven't seen much of pooolice here in NJ....probably because of all the holiday shopping the roads have been turned into parking lots. I wonder if those tickets can be deducted from your taxes as a political contributions.?
Mine came in handy after leaving the Bruce/PChop run to Milford a number of weeks ago (Great time). I was pulled over for doing 80 in a 65 by a NYS Trooper on Route 17 . He had me dead to rights. I just admitted to him that I was a little fast, but that I really thought that he had picked up a jeep that was on my bumper and over taking me. His exact words were "this is a really fast car but I will give you the benefit of the doubt" and I was on my way. I have only had the 348 for a hand full of months and have been pulled over 5 times. Twice for speeding and was let go (PBA card again thank god). Once for no plates and twice it was for no seat belt (it comes from the right so they can not see it), but I really think it was just to check the car out based on all of the questions I was asked. In 17 years of driving I have been pulled over maybe 20 times (once for 151 MPH on my GSXR on the LIE, no ticket but had to push it home 3 miles) and I only have received two speeding tickets by the same NYS Trooper in almost the same spot 7 years apart. I even remebered him and told him that the only ticket I had ever recieved was from him, his response was "I love repeat customers" PBA cards have work, at times.
Back from court. I think I got a damn good deal. Went from a 5 point wreckelss, to a 2 point carelss with a $278 fine. Can't complain too much about that.
Oh I could definatly live with that. Just gotta hope this clown don't wanna go to civil court with this now.
