In this last period it seems that my rear view mirrors (mainly the passenger side one) are not properly responding to the inputs of the control knob.
It seems that cables are a little rusty or somethiong similar, so movement of the mirror is not smooth.
What do you reckon is the easiest way to reach the cables to clean/lubricate them?
Is it possible just to remove the mirror or is it necessary to remove the all thing?
Thank you all in advance for help.
    Ciao

OK, disassembled the rear view mirror and discovered that it was competely different from what I thought...
No cables, just plastic gears very, very dirty...
Cleaned and lubricated them all, now it works.

If you hear no noise at all, then there must be an electrical problem that could affect the control switch P/N 61803100 Tav 114 Item 22 (likely) or bothe the electrical motors (less probable).
If you hear noise, just remove the two screws at the bottom of the rear view mirror, gently extract the complete group, remove the mirror (be careful not to damage the plastic clips) and clean / lubricate it all.
Let me know how it develops...

P.S. The above is valid for mirrors P/N 61021800 Tav 114/A, Item 74

Thanks, but no noise what so ever so I guess it is the motor then?
Mine is 328 GTS 1988 so would this P/N be relevant?

P/N only depends, according to the catalogue, on the destination market and not on the construction year. Mine is the one in the picture.
The fact that you have no noise from BOTH mirrors make me think more to a mirror switch problem than to anything else. Let me know hoow the situation evolves.
