Prestonwood, thats it. I dont know why I couldnt think of it, my uncle lives there.
That house you are talking about is on River Oaks and Inwood. Owned by the Wyatt family, 25,000 square foot home with 6.5 acres on the BLVD. Easily a $35m+ home. Their decorations are amazing...probably costed them a good $50k to put up. The family that purchased the home next to ours picked it up for dirt cheap ($1.5m) from the estate. The home directly next to it is also being torn down as well. It was a POS before and needed to be destroyed anyway....but yes, there is plenty of construction going on, very interesting...
A house on River Oaks Blvd for 1.5mm? The stop signs are worth more than that arent they? If I ever decide I want more than 2500 square feet, River Oaks is definately where Id go. The only other place would be right off Westheimer between Gessner and the Kroger. That Horse Shoe street that has houses that put River Oaks to shame (of course its by Gessner, but still).
I know how nice the Woodlands is, that is where the majority of our houses are built. I just dont like it up there. Too many pine trees, and too far from 'whats happening'. I like the SW side. All the live oaks and such. In generally, I will always live on the north side of 59, south of i-10, west of downtown and east of the beltway.
Yeah, that house on the blvd. is being built for the Cutsingers, its 9000+sqft, my dad tried to get that lot a while ago, but was waiting for a drop, and missed it.
290 and 610 area. Used to live Chimney Rock and Memorial. I know it is late, but a really good place to see Christmas lights is over by Garden Oaks. 610N to Ella. Take Ella to Pinemont. Right on Pinemont and go down about 2 or 3 streets. The whole subdivision goes all out!! Absolutly amazing!!! Did that house by River Oaks CC have all those lights dangeling from the trees? My gf and I were over there looking at houses that she wanted. She was wanting to get ideas for her "dream house," so I said why not go, and spend some quality time. :-D I was amazed by the lights that the CC puts up and some of the houses around it. I was dissapointed that more of those houses didn't decorate at all.
That house used to be Oscar Wyatts, the former owner of Coastal Oil, my mom was a lawyer for Coastal.
I see that you live in Sugar Land and you own a 2000 360. I've yet to have seen one in "Candy Land"; you drive it frequently?
Some parts of houston I miss, my Grandfaher had a home on Pine Valley in River Oaks, not much has changed since the last time I saw it. My old house was on Pelham not far from his home. I really miss those days.
Snap out of it, Will! You're gonna make it big one day, and move right back in there! LOL! Skizo we gotta get together sometime, you can hang out at the Fire Pit and watch the trains go by........in Garden Oaks..... I gotta go check....I used to have some Ferraris.... "You can't change the past, but you can effect the future....." Speedy308 said that to me, once.........
