Who Knows this car? Any History? Says Jeff Gordon drove it. Damage? Value? I know you are not suppose to be able to get tags and title, regardless, has anyone ever done so? I believe this may be posible in some states.

some of the description sounds funny

    >Beautiful Black urethane exterior ….
Why would the seller mention this – re-painted I assume

    >Factory carbon fiber body work …
interior yes but none of the boy is CF

it is correct that the VIN is not recognized – however one does get a title with a CH car – I assume not getting a title gets around tax

what causes the problem is registration of a CH – in some states the licensing office does not check the title as I understand it – that allows registration of the car but only for some time until they batch-process registrations and find the race car title

I THINK I know this car, but the chassis number or previous owner would help to be certain. If the Lime Rock win claim is true, it has definitely been repainted. I have never heard of Jeff Gordon driving a Challenge car, but I suppose it's not impossible. I'd sure want to see some documentation on that.

NO real 360 Challenge can legally be licensed for the street in any state. Period. The chassis numbers are on file with DOT as imported as race cars only -- not legal for street use. There are ways of getting a (questionable) title, I suppose, but when the VIN hits the DOT data base it will be kicked out. Anything beyond this to get a 360 Challenge "street legal" and licensed is getting into some serious legal issues.

RE: 360 Challenge, a little off this topic but, I see that many 360C's are being sold with rebuilt engines, what exactly is the difference besides exhaust and ECU between the 360 street and Challenge, as far as the engine goes?
What is the rebuild schedule, 20 hours, 30, etc...

If the only difference is basically ECU and exhaust then why with proper maintenance can't you drive them the same as say a 360CS..
I.E., change oil every weekend, do timing belt every season, etc...

Is there a big internal difference, I though the power was around the same as the CS that runs on 91 octane??

Thanks, they sound attractive but not if they require major rebuilds all the time..
