    Steve,
noone's accused him of trying to make a buck. He's too stupid to, anyways. Instead, he's trying to ingratiate himself and gain credibility, first by his stupid tales of caring and sacrifice for a dad that abused him (too much information, Gentry, next time work on the subtlety), and now with this holier-than-thou "caring" that has energized him to raise funds and get them matched by anonymous "friends."

Err, clients. Err, up to $500 only. Err, you don't have to say how much you gave. Err, how much did you give? Err, ok, I forgot I said that I would give $25 if you won't tell me what you donated. Err, thanks for your donation that I verified (even though I couldn't possibly). Err, I never said this much or that much. Err, I never said this. Err, this detail actually meant that. Err, I am not going to provide receipt numbers that can be independently verified (actually, maybe I should now, just to prove everyone wrong--will they accept me then, I wonder? Might be worth the $200 just for that)... Err, how much do you make? Err, how much do you need to afford a Ferrari? Err, I need some leasing advice even though I have a lease worked out that puts me in a nice car and gives me a few thousand back at the end.

Err, I don't have to prove anything. Err, I won't respond, except this one time and the next. Err, I am so hurt. Err, this is unbelievable, stop it, you're hurting my feelings and I am shaking with rage. Err, you're a troll. Err, why does this always happen to me. Err...ok, let's talk about this deal I have going down (cue next opportunity as presented by Gentry--in obvious need of gentrification)

    PIMP’S PREDICTION

We all know that this is not going to happen because Gentry is going to make his escape with a crafty reply similar to the one I have written below…

“Due to the disrespectful remarks and threats by many in regards to my efforts to match donor funds my “Clients” have regretfully decided to withdraw their offers to match funds donated by F-chat members. They will instead make a direct lump sum donation to their preferred charity.”

Took the words right out of your mouth didn’t I? …Now how you gonna get out of this one?

NOW!! I WILL HOPE THAT GENTRY WILL PRODUCE SOME DOCUMENTATION OF HIS INTENT TO MATCH DONATED FUNDS AND PROVE THE PIMP WRONG!!

I am willing to bet that there was at least some calculation of participation done by or for Gentry on behalf of his clients. $35m may have been the potential risk, but I'd say that less than 1000 people login to FChat each day and even less look in the off-topic section. So the $35m number or the $3.5m derivative is just plain asinine and discredits the poster's general level of intelligence or at the very least, common sense.

With that said, it was silly not to cap it.

Clearly with verification ID's/tracking numbers/email receipts he can easily show that the matching donations were made. This should have been part of the agreement, a confirmation email is easily forwarded to the original contributor. The receipts can be then subsequently posted, if need be.

Gentry- I think you have a good heart, and I really hope that all that you've said is true. I don't think you were trying to gain anything from this personally. The most hairbrained scheme I can see is that someone like you would care enough for these people effected that you are willing to lie about matching contributions to ensure SOME level of participation from those that can afford it.

I don't think that scheme is true, but I may be naive. I just like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

    Steve, he is.

He has posted bogus claims from the word go.

Makes multi-million dollar land deals- "acts as if"

Has a jet- "acts as if"

Has a Bentley on order "acts as if"

Can't decide whether he want a white Rolls Royce or a Testa Rossa in ADDITION to his Bentley "act as if"

In my opinion, Gentry is a very intelligent young man who has little formal education, has had great disappointments in life and has developed an elaborate fantasy world on the internet, where he can be anything or anybody he desires.

In my opinion he thrives on the ability to be an important character here where "rich" guys with Ferraris treat him as an equal. It is a very seductive alternative to the reality of a life where he has no steady work and has to live with his father because he cannot afford his own place and significant (publicly described) health problems.

In my opinion, the abusive father-good son and the charity scam are both ruses to curry favor here and endear himself to the group.

In my opinion Gentry is a pathological liar who cannot bear to face the realities of his life.

I know this is harsh, and it was not necessary as long as he posted harmless braggart posts, but he has now crossed the line when he is costing people money they might not ordinarily spend. And, no, the fact that he caused people to contribute to a good cause is NOT justification.

These are only my opinions, but I'm usually a good judge of people and Gentry has my bullish!t detector pegged.

Gentry will reply that this is all wrong and that indeed he is a well off player in all these arenas and he has no intention of proving anything to me.

I think that he has made fools of a number of trusting souls on F-Chat and because of his psychological needs has done a great disservice to the board in general. I thing he needs to be banned, as he was from the BMW board some time back. He is no longer a harmless wannabe now that he has cost people money.

And BTW, I don't want to see him match dollar for dollar, no, I want him to match 6 to 1 as he stated. Surely a player of this magnitude can go ahead and contibute $1200 to match the 2 one hundred dollar donations, and of course, he needs to put up $1500 to match Rob's donation. No need to wait for the 5 clients, they are good for it, they will pay it back....unless of course $2,700 is too much to come up with.

I don't know what to think here. I checked Gentry's phone number on an ANYWHO search, and it is a real live number, for a residence of Gentry Wilson in Houston. There is even a map there.

Why would anyone try to operate a fraudulent scheme while being that easy to track down?

Not only can the confirmations be forwarded, they can be altered. The only legit confirmation woud be DIRECTLY sourced fron the charities web site.

Because he is not personally getting any money; just the recognition from this "peer" group of what a swell guy he is. It is indeed, pathological; in my opinion of course.

He needs positive reinforcement to make up for deficits in reality.

hmmmmmm.... he also never said WHEN he'd match the donations. Watch for loopholes boys and girls!

ack. I need to get back to REAL work now. I'll check on this a bit later as he may be taking some time to contact his clients maybe? This IS a valid point, because people that have the kind of CASH to match donations usually have very little TIME to match donations.

Not trying to give anyone an "out", just pointing out the facts ma'am. ;)

Add my $50 donation to the Red Cross from a few nights ago into the mix. Gentry said he'd match it in similar fashion.

You know what really infuriates me? This thread was started with the intention of getting people to help. It's really too bad that it has become a thread about Gentry.

Get back to what really matters...TENS OF THOUSANDS of people have died and the surviviors need help.

Shame on us all for letting this get so far off track!!!
