Actually, despite the Gentry distraction, many are giving money because of this thread. Gentry be damned, if this thread gets money where it will help, then that's great. With 100,000+ dead, and millions displaced from their homes, this is a catastrophic event that has changed the lives of millions forever. We drive our fancy cars and enjoy a very comfortable lifestyle, but a little extra giving at this time of year to whichever charity you like will help immeasurably with this. Respectfully, I think exposing a fraud (who wants to gather undeserving kudos because of the suffering) is important so as to not dishonor the poor victims. Hopefully, if we don't push too hard he will make a donation of a few hundred dollars to "prove" he's on the up and up. Sadly, the >$13k will never materialize and I think that's simply disrespectful to the victims.

Actually I made it long before I became infuriated, but thanks for questioning my integrity too. One last note and then I will never look at this thread again. I couldn't care less whether Gentry is a fraud or not. There really won't be a winner to the argument that has gone on here, no matter how it turns out. Agreed, However, there is an individual (Gentry) allegedly using this thread to promote himself. We are just as concerned about these victims of this tragedy as anyone with a heart!! John, I commend you for your tolerance and patients for people like Gentry. I , Like many posting here today, have given Gentry the benefit of the doubt. But its time for him to back up his claims! So what does this have to do with the Victims and donations?? A HELL OF A LOT!! Let me put this in perspective. Put yourself in the shoes of a parent whos child is in need of critical care. Imagine an individual stepping up making a claim that he and his anonymous Clients will match any donation given x6. Think of your disappointment and distress when you find out that instead of the estimated $36,000 needed for your childs medical attention you only raised $6K!! because this guy was a FRAUD!! NOW your child will need to wait longer and your job of raising funds made more difficult because of this A$$ Holes Fraudulent actions. Thats not disturbing to you? IT IS TO ME!!!

Don't know where to begin with this thread. First off i was donating money before i saw this thread. Reading it to be honest I was skeptical, knowing some of the history Gentry has here. Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, and to be blunt saw it as the means to an end. If more people donated simply cause they thought it was going to be matched, or just reading about how easy it was just by clicking a link on the P.C......Great!! Bottom line money was going to those in need. Gentry I hope your intentions are pure, but i have to admit you have a knack for making yourself the center of ultimately unwanted negative attention. You seem like a smart guy, smart enough to know that his thread was going to bring out the doubters wanting proof! However there really is no way to do this in a reasonable way. Gentry ive seen where people wanted "tail" numbers and so forth. I can understand and even respect a person not wanting are feeling as though they have to "prove" themselves. But after a mulitude of times of being put in the same situation over and over by your own choosing, one has to wonder what other motives are driving you. Lastly i would ask anyone reading this to think about contributing to a charity that can help those in need around the Indian Ocean.
No, I think I have a lock on the diagnosis. Gentry, these are very forgiving people. If you come clean, I think you will find they will accept you for just who you are. No need to embellish, all kinds of folks get along here, folks of all economic backgrounds. I think if you admit this was all made up about the 5 clients, that you don't do multimillion dollar land deals, that you live with your folks in a nice but modest home, people will forgive as they have done with other here. Gentry, you are smart and interesting, but your stories don't help. Come clean and watch the support from me as well as others. I mean it.

I think not. Here is a simple solution, put me on ignore. And a normal, rational, mature human being (who doesnt suffer from his own megalomanai) would have kept discussions in private, in private. Your 'need' to expose me under any circumstances, justified or not, just goes further to prove my stance that people such as yourself dont want me to be legit. You are done with me, that is fine. I hope you who question him are wrong, but I have no idea. I suggest we stay on topic : RED CROSS RED CRESENT NEEDS HELP! or other charities like Doctors w/o Borders, for example.
