Hello Everyone, I just moved to Newport Coast from Maryland about 2 months ago. I found the site through a search engine and decided to become a member. I'm not a Ferrari owner, but will be one soon. Thanks, Ali
Welcome to the boards Ali, dont forget to check out Crystal Cove one of these Saturday's. It is a MUST DO as a car guy living in this area. Good luck in your search for a Ferrari!
If you didn't notice, I started my own thread mentioning how i want to move there and for advice, so if I may ask what are you doing there? As in career wise. How did that work for you, did you transfer there, have something planned, etc?
I own a IT Consulting Company and a Automotive Media Company. I moved out here to grow the automotive media company and slowly get out of the IT consulting industry.
Welcome to CA & F-Chat. Good move! My sister & her family did the same move 2 years ago from Maryland. What city?
I'd take this over snow and very very cold weather. In MD we get this kind of weather for months during the winter time. The only thing that scares me is when I drive on the roads here when they are wet. It's like driving on ice! I guess the roads here are not setup to channel water off the road.
Watch out for the 73 toll road heading south going up hill towards Newport Coast starting from the base of the Hill for about the first half mile or so. Last week on Friday the 31st of Dec. on my way home, four Cars were off the Road and pointing in the wrong direction. At first thought maybe there was something on the road they were dodging but that's when this lady doing about 75mph in a Mercedes lost it. Good news is we didnt play "tag your it". I call a friend at a local Towing Company who handles calls for the CHP and part of the 73 toll road. "As far as Roads and Highways go the 73 toll road is the worst for hydro-planning". Thats a good source for that kind of information. So watch out for the CHP and the Rain on the 73 toll road.
