    Looks nice.

    What is the weight difference?

What is the difference in handling?

Looks incredible! I'm thinking of the same upgrade when my 17's wear out sometime next year. I'm curious about the jump from 17 to 19...how has the car changed? Thanks!

p.s. You should post those pics over on PPBB.com...lots of people would enjoy them.

Just from lifting each of the two sets it doesn't feel like much weight difference - the new wheels are very light. When FedEx shipped them they were showing 35 lbs for a wheel/tire combo. And I literally put them on in my parking garage about a half hour ago so other than a quick turn around the parking garage to listen for any rubbing I haven't even driven on them yet! I expect more harshness from the ride but it wasn't like it was a smooth ride with the 17s.

Will update after I've driven on them a bit!

    Cheers

I'd like to know how the 19" effects turn in and whatnot.

BTW Rex, it looks like I'm gonna get a 2003 Boxster S TIP. More later.

Doc - FWIW if we had it to do over again we would have got the 6-speed instead of the Tip. This car is primarily my wife's car, and about three days after the car arrived she was "when you get me my next one I want a manual shift..." Otherwise we love it - it is our utility car since the Ferrari is, well, a Ferrari... and my old 380SL's soft top leaks like a sieve in the rain, it won't take hills very well and with the Euro-spec engine pings in the summer unless I put 100 octane unleaded in it.

Make sure you have the rear main seal checked if you're getting the Boxster although with an '03 will you still have some warranty left?

    Cheers

I hear ya bout the Tip. FWIW, one of the Porsche mags had an article about how fool a TIP into thinking it is a stick. I'm getting a TIP because wife can't handle a stick. Ah, wait, that didn't come out right. She doesn't know how to drive a standard transmisson...

He's here all week, folks - try the veal.

Yeah, I saw that article as well in Panorama I think. Have yet to try it although I have been making a concerted effort to practice my left-foot braking in the car. I think if you were gonna do it on the track you would want a wider brake pedal.

    Cheers

Beautiful wheels! They really compliment the lapis blue paint very very well.

Very nice wheel and it give the car some much needed presence. Boxsters have such a good design, but there are so many stripped down base models running around, you really need something like this to set it apart from the crowd and make it look a bit more special.

Another great visual change is the 99-01 GT3 front bumper, it bolts right on and matches the rest of the car much better than the standard options.

I agree - ours is a Boxster S and did have the 17" Sport Classics, but it looks a LOT more aggressive now. I keep going back and forth on the GT3 pieces since Porsche tells you to install the whole aerokit presumably for aerodynamic balance but I am struggling with the wing. Need to do the exhaust next, I think!!

    Thanks for the tips.

    Cheers

    The wheels look nice.

I also like the look of the aero kit minus the wing. The rear end of the Boxster is the best part. The wings just mess it up.

Also, I have an 01 Boxster S (still under warranty) that is currently for sale. If anyone knows of someone who may be interested please let me know.

    Thanks
    Jay

Very nice wheels, one suggestion, the car needs to be lowered imo, that would finish it off nicely :)

Thinking about it - wanted to mount the wheels and tires first, clean it up and have a look. Don't want to get too crazy as this car is our road-tripper/utility car.

    Cheers
