    Anyone see that Honda CR-V commercial where cars are being treated like dogs in a dog show (people pulling them along in a stadium)? I noticed a beautiful silver Jaguar XJ220 rolling along among the cars before the camera cuts to the Honda.

    I just thought it was really cool considering the XJ220 has been out of production for at least 10 years now. Wonder where they found it?

    I saw it. I thought it was a cheap shot. Everytime these econo-box companies put an "exotic" to compare their product I wonder if these marketers have any brains.

    An Enzo would probably be easier to find than an XJ220.

    Considering Jaguar probably still has 100+ unsold, 0 mile XJ220s, why do you guys think they'd be difficult to find?

    It appears that you missed the point of the commercial. It was a "dog" show. The XJ220 represented best in show for the exotic class. Honda's statement isn't that the CR-V can somehow be compared w/the Jag, just that the CR-V is also the best in its class.

    Not for a while now. Those cars sold several years ago.

    The XJ220 was produced from 92 to 94. There were only 281 made... If Jag is holding out 100+, with 0 miles on them, I'd love to be the car enthusiest with a couple ten mill to spend right now.

    The factory had less than two dozen stashed away and if memory serves me correctly, there were 4 being stored in a location with some of Jaguar's key undestroyed prototypes wrapped in plastic sheeting three years ago. I doubt the factory has more than half a dozen.

    Also, there is only one XJ220 that I know of that is regularly driven, owned by a female doctor in North Hollywood. This was about a year ago, it suffered an engine fire but the car was easily saved by a quick acting guard and as far as I know, repaired and still owned by the same lady. I'll check with my specialist who did some work on the car in times past.

    I havnt seen it yet. But there's a XJ220 at the Land Rover place. Ill keep a look out for the commercial though

    The commercial is on all the time. Even though I don't like companies "comparing" exotic cars to there cars it is nice to see a nice car once in awhile on T.V.
