Absolutely...! Apex, got it, you've got mail, too... ...although you already know this... C'mon, people, i've got one more... Someone step up to the plate and claim it - i would love to make only ONE trip to the post office...
I only have one 1:1 Ferrari right now...(an '81 308 GTSi) Working on #2.... About Twenty 1:18 Ferrari's. A couple assorted 1:43 Ferrari's And,my 7 year old Son and I now have 11 of the "Final Run" Blue 308's. Bunches of the New 575GTC. Dozens of The Hotwheels 550,456,333SP's and 355's with the Flame Decals on the sides. Quite a few Enzo's. Tuner Enzo's. Tuner 360's. Also, lots of assorted other older ones,(1:64). But,I also have a Silver 308GTB. A Black 308GTB. And,a Red 308GTS,with the top open. Check at the big Car Shows,(Auto Show,World of Wheels,ETC....) in the Vendor and Swapmeet Area's. Thats where I found the older 1:64 308's. But,I also found a 1:43 "GuiToy" from Spain,"Ferrari GTO". Except that it looks just like a GTS-Open Targa Top. Tan interior without Black inserts. No GTO front Spoiler,Black Boxer trim, but only on the Front and Rear Spoiler/Valances,Not Wider in the Back...But,it does have the 3 Angled Slots on the Rear Quarters. Not sure exactly what it is,but it was only $5.00. Then,I found a 1:18 Hotwheels 288GTO,Brand New-$15.00! You never know what you'll find at these shows and Swapmeets.......
As it is today.... Always adding! The little playset in the middle is a Hot Wheels Ferrari Dealership I found at WalMart about 4 yrs ago Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will repost this pic since it was lost when the site/server crashed. This is the pic that was in my first post which started this thread. Since it was taken, I have added about 70 more to this scale collection. I'll take a new pic in the coming months. Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOL, i think a lot of us just did...! ****, i have a lot of 1:64 cars, but i don't think i have that many Ferraris... i have about 100 Enzos and i STILL don't think i have as many as HE does... Oh, by the way, Dave, your whole collection SUCKS merely because there's no Enzo in it...
Carbon, if you couldn't spot the Enzo in that lot, you just self- Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
P.S., I also have the 'tooned Enzo and 360, but I left them out of the picture... I think they're ugly, but since things that say Ferrari on them are rarely less than a dollar, I couldn't help myself.
There are quite a few customs in that mix. Many of them have been painted by friends for me. Later on, I will post more pics. Tomorrow is a holiday so I will break out the camera and the collection. (That and I got 2 - 256mb memory cards for my camera for christmas and have not used them yet) Oh yeah...I also have that Ferrari Dealership.
BUMP - In case anyone missed posts # 29, 33, and 34 of this thread! LOL... Carbie, have your PR people create a "damage control" statement!
LOL...! Oh crap, i can't believe i missed that Enzo...! Damn... i DID self-own, didn't i...? How pathetic... Rob, where'd you get the black, dark silver, white and yellow Enzos...?!? i'm stupid with jealousy...!!!
I painted all of them. At that time, red was the only color Mattel had released so I stripped them down and shot them a new skin color. (The yellow one is another award winner of mine.) Since then I have done 2 more; a dark green one and a **very close to** Azzuro California one.
Do you win the awards at shows, or online, or how does it work? Also, how do you separate the bodies from the bases? and how do you put them back together?
I collect 1/64 of anything I can find that is accurate in shape and could be painted up, not just Ferraris, but pretty much any kind of racing or sportscar. These are some I have pictures of just now. So, from the top: Siku of Schumi's 1996 F1 car. Champion (I think) of 1978 312T3, as bought and painted as Gilles' car. Pair of Matchbox sharknoses, with different tyres and roll hoops added. Pair of Husky 250LMs, modified & painted for G.Hill/Bonnier, Reims 1964; and Bandini/Scarfiotti, 250P, Le Mans 1963. Rob... Um... i think i love you... Can you share with us just how you accomplish these beautiful feats...?
I think I shall start a new thread in the next few days. A step by step how to of customizing 1:64's.
Awards are at shows held by our club. We try to hold one every three months. How do I seperate the bodies? See my response to NNO's post.
Prost goes out to practise in the 1988 McLaren while Senna works out how to take him off and Alboreto waits patiently for his mechanics to finish a long lunch. Paul M Image Unavailable, Please Login
Okay...updated picture. This new one has no duplicate cars. Only 62 cars are custom, the 3 trucks are custom so 65 total. the other 222 are factory issued paint/wheel combinations. And...the second pic is just for Carb... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Azzuro Enzo is AMAZING!!!! Would you sell any of them by any chance?
Just a few matchbox/champion/polistil F1s in 1/64 (excluding the Hotwheels which needs a lot a work/new front wing/bigger wheels to look OK); Gilles, Jean Alesi and Michele Alboreto to the front and right. Paul M Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well...any of the ones I have painted I may be willing to do another if someone wants one. The *close to* Azzuro Enzo was done by me and I could do another. It would take me a little longer right now due to my classes and the weather being cold and wet right now. But it could be done if someone wanted one. *close to* - the color I used on that one (and the 360 seen in the larger pic - third row from the top, third car from the right) is actually called Light Metallic Blue. It was the closest match I could find at that time. Maybe I should start posting pics of my custom painted Ferraris?
