I need to replace the nuts that fix my front wheel hub to the spindle. Once again it is one of those 'Ferrari' parts that cost a relative fortune. One is left hand and the other is right hand thread. Both are otherwise identical with an extended flange to bend in the spindle's keyway. I'm sure there must be a more reasonable price than $20/nut.

    You can try.

Take one of the nuts to a friendly auto parts store & see if you can match it up with one for another car. If you can measure the thread's diamenter & pitch, you might be able to find them on the web from a metric supplier. However, shipping costs would put a dent in your savings.

The LH thread one is probably going to be very hard to find.

Might have to take a crown nut & cross-drill the male thread so you can use a cotterkey to lock it on.

At some point you're going to have to ask yourself how much time you're willing to spend on this search to maybe save $10 - $20.

UMM, just saw your profile, if you're in the auto parts business, then you probably know all of the above.

Verrell's right the L/H thread nut will be the hardest to source, so that's why they cost so much - we can only sell the pair for $35 plus shipping
