My problem with the guy with the Euro is that he won't do the trade on the Porsche andthe wife would have my left wingnut hangin on the front door if I bought one without selling the other....the dealer is also pretty unresponsive, and if this is how they respond during the honeymoon period, I'd hate to get married to one of their cars.

The Nart Blue 360 is gorgeous. Black is nice, but I'd stay away from a Euro model - FNA will not stand behind ANY warranty issues, so nothing is covered on a Euro model. DO buy from a dealer and preferably one in your area and they will stand behind your car and they then usually bend warranty periods at times for their customers.

If you don't mind taking a little bath, get the Blue 360, but if you wait a couple months, the prices should come down a bit as the 430 nears release.
Maybe see what you can do about selling your Pcar by yourself on ebay and keep the money in hand till you find the price/color you're looking for with a 360? Better to lose 5-10k off the price of the Porsche selling it by yourself now and then save another 20-30 on the 360 when you find what you want (as the 430 nears, the 360 prices will plummet). My $0.02.

    I'm sure you'll find a great car.
    Best of luck!

I don't want to start a big war about this, but I have to disagree. I think the opposite will happen (in the short term), especially given what happened to 355s when the 360 came out.

I see the following taking place:

This spring/summer, 430s start to arrive (sloooowly). Big PR effort by Ferrari/Press/etc. to promote the car, as well as the incredible buzz that will without a doubt surround its arrival. PR = more people want their first Ferrari, and more people want to upgrade to the 430.

The "list" (that we're all 1st on) is jam-packed for at least the first year now, if not more, so newbies will either wait for 3 years to get one at list, pay $250k - $300k for a 430 NOW, or decide to get a 360 in the meantime. That means demand goes up, and since there will be more people wanting any car than 360 owners getting 430s, 360s prices will hold in the 120 - 150 level (140 - 180 for spiders). Once 430s are readily on the market and can be had for <=$200k (1 - 2 years), THEN we'll see 360 spider prices drop into the low 100s and coupes fall well below that.

agree with noah on this one.
if ur newbie, even if u walk into a f-car dealer with 10k cash/check in hand for deposit, the chance is that they wont take it, because enough exsiting customer already take 3+ yrs of production allocation.
there will be alot of ppl are waiting to get into a 360, either they are steppin up, or they are new owner but looking to get into the next best thing, so the demand for 360 will be high in the 1st yr, price will hold.

I personally like the blue better...for some reason the lines on the 360 are not as sharp in black...IMO.

Btw, Ferrari Market Letter has 4 black ones for sale

Thanks for that information...I would love to know more about the blacks (assuming the blue deal doesn't work out) on Ferrari Market Letter, but just tried to subscribe and they seem to be having problems with their subscribe process (I've emailed them)...in the interim, could you possibly give me contact info and other related info for these cars?...that would really help me quite a bit.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Sorry to hijack the thread with 430 talk...

Back to topic: I LOVE the blue one. There's something about blue drop-tops...

if you are looking for a 360 spider get in now. the prices will not be going any further than what they are now for a while. The 430 has hit a snag and will not be out until april or may and they will only be a handful. if you have you heart set on buying a 360 spider this month is the month.

The one thing that spooks me a little bit about the blue car is the fact that if you look at Ebay history, this is the third time the car has been up for auction and through a reputable dealer and yet not a single bid...very strange.

I have never heard of Ferrari bending the rules on a out of warranty vehicle... there is no difference between an 01-02 spider euro or no euro...

The only recent difference in a euro was the early 360 coupes.. 1999 360 euros are faster than 99-00 us cars. Computers were different and the US Epa didnt require a change to meet emissions.

Don't sweat this Paul. The guys that typically bid on eBay auctions for these kinds of cars are people that get a kick out of bidding for a $185K car when the bid starts at $100.00. The starting price for this auction is the mid-$170's, so it effectively shuts out the riff-raff, who are probably concerned about their bid being the one that hits the Reserve Price.

The guys that are serious about transacting are already talking to the dealer offline to strike the best deal they can. I'd do the same.

Remember you've also got the benefit of a PPI to get under the hood, and your purchase will obviously be contingent on this. Let us know how the negotiations proceed.
