    Thanks Dana.

I thought that these were too rare to be found readily on Ebay....

I have a similar 1/16 scale model of the 288 GTO made by Testors that I've had for many years. I never got around to building it.

The picture is not a Fujimi kit but a Polistil diecast. Also in 1:16 scale. I've had one, gave it to my 4 year old nephew (I think it's that bad). Fujimi should be much better. I once had a Fujimi Koenig Testasrossa but never got around to completing it. I Sold it.

Just an FYI that the Testors 1:16 Ferrari 288GTO plastic model kit is actually a reboxed Fujimi 1:16 kit. Typically you can get the unbuilt Testors version for about $25 - $35 on eBay, with the Fujimi version going for $10 - $20 more. This is because few people know this and are willing to pay for the Fujimi name. Be aware that the box the Testors version comes in is poor quality and prone to crush easily. You could get one where the body has broken A pillars because of this, and also because Fujmi uses slightly more brittle plastic than other makers combined with thinner plastic cross sections.

It's a beautiful kit though, very highly detailed and not made by anybody else, period. If you want a plastic kit of the 288GTO in 1:16 scale it's the only game in town. It is a challenge to build though because of the previously mentioned issues with the plastic. If you like 1:16 scale Fujimi made a whole series that are unique to them, like the Porsche 959, F40, Testarossa, Koenig Twin Turbo Testarossa, Countach (about 4 different versions), Toyota 2000GT, Miura, etc.

I uploaded several images of my 1/16 Ferrari 288 GTO to my Webshots album.
In a couple of the images I just placed some of the pieces together, nothing has ever been glue. I never got around to building this model.

    Fujimi is re-releasing the 288GTO.

You can pre-order it at www.hlj.com. It's supposed to come out in February. ~$50+shipping.

But the Testors kit is a re-box and you can find it on E-Bay.

    Hi all,
I came across this thread while just lurking around.
Here are some pics of a Fujimi 1/16 288 GTO that I started several years ago.
It is not finished yet to this day. It sits as you see it still!
Be warned that the wheels in the fujimi kit and the testors kit (which are the same kit) are grossly under scale.
The wheels on this kit are from the 1/16 fujimi F40 kit. It toook (2) yes two F40 kits and (1) 288 gto kit to get this far. I dremeled out the 288 tires inner circumfrence,so the F40 wheels would fit in them. The F40 tires are to big. And narrowed the f40 wheels to fit the width of the 288 tires. (by the way they are pirellis in the kit. Every gto left the factory with goodyear gatorbacks) The only company that have ever put the correct tires on a model has been makeup co. on there latest release of the 288 GTO.
I also used the door hinges from the F40 to make the doors open the correct way,to the inside of the front fenders instead of swinging out around them.
A long ways from finnished but now working on the MRCollection 288 GTO.
