Reinstalling a charcoal canister on a 79 308

Hello fellow "F"-Chatters,

Got a question:

I'm reinstalling a charcoal canister on my 79 308, and forgot which direction the band afixes to the frame.

There's and open end that faces sideways and another that faces upwards or downwards depending.

I know it's a small detail, but I'm a stickler for detail.

If you could tell me the direction, i'd appreacite it.

Sorry bud, mine is out of the car as well. I am rebuilding my motor and I don't recall, but this might help:

I just looked but there is only one bracket on my '78.

Edit: I got it now, the ear that opens to the side is facing the rear of the car on mine. That should put the other one facing down I believe.
