Which One?? 05 Corvette vs 03 M3 Coupe vs 03 Porsche C4S vs 05 SLK55

I agree about the trans in the SLK55. Although it is the new 7 speed auto and it does have the AMG Speedshift programming which is an improvement over the standard trans....

 

I like it as well. They are making 1000 of them for the US and there are only a few hundred in the states now. A lot of people don't know what the car is all about (or that it even exists) . The convertible hardtop also is a big plus. I could get the M3 convertible or the C6 convertible but they don't have as much appeal to me as the convertible hardtop....

 

C4S or M3. If you need more space, go with M3. If you don't, go with C4S. The C4's are a blast to drive.

 

Yup - I looked at that 7 speed AMG box. It looks intriguing - but I would still prefer an SMG or manual tranny. All around the SLK55 looks really nice - except, I am not sure that its better than the M3 (only feature I really like is the hard top convertible).

A friend of mine just bought a new M3 convertible and put in a Dinan upgrade - up to 361 HP and a Tubi exhaust. Its really nice. I think all in he was around high 60's or close to $70K. Now that to me is really appealling.

 

While the SLK55 might have the performance and improved hardware, I still bet that it doesnt handle as well as the C4s or M3 (Mercs cant dance!).

If money or value is no object, my pick is the C4S - it's so sexy.
