Autocar is running a story today suggesting that Ferrari is considering upping the ante with a "super" version of the Enzo. I'll try and scan/post pics later.

By all accounts including company execs, the super ferraris will continue, but they have so far varied so much, they are probably doing testing if that, with enzo bodies, my guess is it will be substantially different looking, but as for some parts....how different can a carbon tub be no? a V12 is a V12...6.0 sounds pretty good sized..maybe enlarged to 6.5.....

LOL, i've been keeping an eye on this thread since it started... i'm waiting for pictures or substantial, concrete information... An Enzo GT makes sense, but i thought that was put to rest with the birth of the MC12...

i sure hope that's a digitally enhanced image from Autocar and not Ferrari... i hope they don't go in that direction with design modications... They're gonna fück up the most beautiful, flawless creation the world has ever known...

I'm surprised it took you so long...

What they should have done is offered up the Super Enzo as the Enzo built for the tsunami victims.....not that building another "regular" Enzo is a bad thing for such a worthy cause.

    It's all just assumptions really.

    Paraphrasing Autocar's article:

After the 430spider and 575 replacement, the Ferrari designers will turn their attention to the Super Enzo. The replacement Enzo will be the last of a breed, after that the Ferraris will become smaller, lighter and greener.
Ferrari's innovation department, under Franco Cimatti, has already completed work on the Super Enzo's direction.
Quote from a senior engineer, "In five years we have to have a new Enzo, but we have not yet decided what that special model is. It's in innovation and concept stages. We haven't fixed anything".
Special consideration has been giving to a tandem layout, with the passenger behind the driver. Ferrari is currently building a 3-seater F1 car, and this could influence the super Enzo in a McLaren type of positioning.
The V12 Enzo engine has a lot of potential, so a 6.5 or 6.8 litre version is a real possibility. The car will have a lot more F1 influences, especially aerodynamics and new materials. They admit the Enzo is too much function over form and they could have made it better looking.
They don't want to go down the bonkers BHP route... they're more interested in aerodynamics and centre of gravity.

Thats about it really... mostly speculation :)

Ferraris will become smaller, lighter and greener after the F430 Spider, 575 replacement and Super Enzo. Great or bad news?

Why they're not making a new supercar with a whole new name (new design, new engine?) They didn't mess with the F40 and F50 road cars.

I'm not too excited about this new car. (as for now)

5 years would make 2010 which will be after the f60 is launched, which means their would be 2 reoccurring halo cars (Fxx and enzo2+) albeit on different timelines, according to the article of course, makes sense though the supercar doesn’t have a production run of 10 years so why not build another model in between.

Though it might not bear the name this car will probably be the F60, I cant imagine Ferrari having two supercars in production at once.

Yea i have the same thoughs, dont think this will be that amazing. They should just make a new Supercar, not use the Enzo, maybe something like a F60?

    True.
So it looks like Ferrari are going with the same plan of the late 80's. (288, F40)
    Both , the 288 and F40 have the same engine but in the F40 its a 2.9-3.0 L twin turbo V8 and in the 288 its a 2.8 L V8.

Now the Enzo and future supercar (F60) will share engines.
I hope this new supercar will be lighter.

Someone mentionned 2 supercars: F60 in 2007 and the super Enzo.
This super Enzo should be the F60. They said in five years but I think this car will be out late 2007 and production will end in 2010.

Don't think for a moment this car will be called Super Enzo. (doesn't sound good) It will be named F60. It will have an Enzo engine and the exterior will look different. (same thing what they did with the 288 and F40)
