I have to admit that I've been thinking that the 612 is one ugly car. I just thought it looked out of proportion. Well all that changed today. I was up at FNA today and they had a black and silver car and the black looked incredible. First, that car is huge. I thought the Conti GT was big but the 612 is just as big. Black is without a doubt the best color. If you haven't seen the car in person you can't judge it. I saw the car up close at the autoshow last year and I was unimpressed. Man, that car is hot in the flesh.

    People change...

I used to think that the 550/575 looked like a Supra, the 412 was ugly, and that the Mondial looked ridiculous.

I now think the 550/575 is one of the nicest designs on the road that possesses an understated, yet very savage masculinity, sort of like the Hulk in a three-piece suit.

I actively want a 412...or maybe something in the same clothes but with carbs and loud pipes so I can fly under enemy radar with unmitigated glee.

I once thought that the Mondial looked out of sorts in the automotive world, and especially in the the exotic car world. It seemed to me that the car was uncertain of itself in either role....sort of like Donald Duck as the Cross-Dressing Hero saving the day in a Tutu and Tights.

Well, my time on this forum has clearly taught me the error of my ways. The 550 style and the 412 are now honored and revered cars in my mind. As for the Mondial, well.

I will never be able to wipe the image from my mind of Donald Duck running down the highway in a tutu and tights going, "Woo hoo, WOO HOO!" And to me, that sums up the Mondial, cover to cover.

    Sorry, Mondial guys.

The 612 is beautiful. Wonderful. Stunning. Even in photographs. I would love it more, if only they could wipe that stupid grin off of its face.

couldnt agree with you more, especially about the 412. compare the 412 to cars from its era like the jags, bimmers and benzes. the 412 still looks good, has that timeless pinifarina design.

the 612 is very cool, too bad North americans think cant appreciate the art of "il Grant Turismo", 612's and cars like maserati's are much more reverred over there.

The 612 is a great car except one can not sit in the rear seat.

    Only drive 12 cylinders

I couldn't agree more. Seeing the 612 in person changed my mind. I saw a silver / tan with inserts / shields / modular rims in Beverly Hills last week and it was beautiful. If you have not seen one - you need to. One of the best Ferraris I have ever seen.

Seen two on the road, and they looked just as bad moving. Black and rosso metallica or whatever the new dark red metallic is.

rear seats are still trivial, despite how massive the car is. pity.

Haven't seen one in person yet but really looking forward to as I've never liked 2+2 but 612 has changed that perspective.

Especially for $280k+ ... you're in Murcielago territory on that one, and that's a no-brainer.

I think once the 612 takes the huge depreciation hit that is coming, it'll be a great car (i.e. in the $150s).
