Seriously, how in the world is Ferrari going to be able to comply with the upcoming EC front bumper standards without making the cars look like bricks?

The few photochops I've seen that show what a Ferrari would look like that meets the standards is painful.

    Thoughts?

Further, are the standards a foregone conclusion at this time, or are they just a possibility?

I heard that those idiotic standards will only be on high volume cars so Ferrari, AM, Lotus,Bentley, RR & maybe Porsche are safe.

Those laws are like the Euro version of American safety stickers which are all over everything, they both will take beauty away from life

I think the pedestrian safety requirements will be worse for the front of the car. If the new bonnet (hood) requirements will be for Ferrari's as well (low prod number car), it will impair the design of new front-engine models. If I remember correctly there need to be 10cm's (4inches) between the bonnet and the engine, which means you cannot make low-slung frong-engine cars any longer. :-(

Not challenging you Will, I just find it hard to believe the new law cld possibly apply to some, but not all manufacturers

Those new european standards will not affect the vehicle if it is mid or rear engined. Saying that, it is going to hurt some of the looks on other front engined vehicles.

    10cm isn't 4 inches. Do you mean 100?
