i used to be a manager / supervisor for both Mcdonald's and a local Best Buy store. i got freind of mine a job as a manager at a local Blockbuster. the regional executive has stated that Blockbuster is in the final stages of buying out Hollywood Video. perhaps the policies will merge.
i dont have a problem with the Blockbuster policy, as it seems they are always out of the "good" movies, in part due to folks not returning them on time. also, they dont have my credit card number, and i like it that way. if you like the movie enough to keep it that long, buy the damn thing at Walmart the tuesday it comes out at the discounted price. no fun for me watching something too often, remembering everything as it happens kind of ruins the fun. my .02

If someone keeps a movie for a few weeks and forgets to return it, I say thank you for being a good consumer and keeping BB in business. With more people like you that don't return other people's belongings, I just might need to dump some money in BB stock. ;) If its $1 processing fee or $100, you lack principle. Period.

Aha... They offered me that unlimited rental membership thingie the other day and i declined... i had no idea you can only rent two per day... As a regular renter, i can have a bunch of movies out at a time, not just two per day... i just brought two back, still leaving one at home and rented another while i was there... i'm perfectly happy with my current arrangement with them... :)

They have employee's wearing t-shirts that say, "no late fees" and they are heavily promoting that to make people fall for the extra charges. So it's not exactly the way you describe it. Btw, I'll give you $5 for one of your no late fee t-shirts ;)

That is incorrect. They will put in back on your credit card if you instruct them to or they will put in on your BB account if you don't, or if you don't have a credit card on file. Don't rely on your friends to read the fine print before you sign the dotted line. Here's the fine print:

What if I return the movie or game seven days or more past the due date?

A: We will gladly let you return the movie or game within 30 days of the sale. If the selling price has been charged to your credit card, we will credit the amount charged to your credit card when you instruct us to do so in person (otherwise we will place this amount on your BLOCKBUSTER membership account). If this amount has been charged to your membership account, we will remove the balance. However, in both instances you will be charged a restocking fee plus applicable taxes.

Had you been correct in your earlier post, I might have given you a t-shirt. :)
