I would first like to say thank you for all of your posts. Sometimes you need to hear things like this to get back on track. I am the dealer principal of Exotic Auto Sales in Scottsdale and would like to take a minute to answer some of your posts. Timbo, does the receptionist at your office know everything about the daily operation of your business? I seriously doubt it. I'm sure their roll is to answer phones and transfer calls or take messages like most other offices. In this particular case , I have confronted our receptionist about it. He could not find myself or Marko and had overheard at one time discussion about the price and relayed that information to the person on the phone trying to be helpful. He probably should of taken a message or transfered the person to voicemail. Martin, thank you for pointing out that there are two sides to a story and offering some personal experience relating. Moondog, I apologize for your bad experience with trying to purchase a vehicle through the dealership and we will work harder to satisfy our customers needs. The response time could have been better but that certainly doesn't make my salesman a liar. I know you are upset but I don't feel that is a fair statement. I am sure your salespeople get vehicle's sold out from under them every now and then. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate a customer calling them a liar because of it. I agree however that communication is the key and that seems to be lacking in this case. Again, thank you all for pointing this out and I guarantee we will work harder on it in the future.

Well, well, well, what a tangled web you weave.

    1. I still have all the emails and pics you sent me at the beginning of our conversations - so NO, it was NOT sold.
    2. You refused to answer my emails and calls as soon as I asked for the PPI - after you gave me the lame jealous shop story.
    3. You told me the buyer was from Washington (State). I actually called back the day the guy was supposed to pick it up (just in case) and you again told me he took it.

    So what's the story now?

There is a big diference between someone who is obviously kicking tires and a BUYER who is serious. I made it very clear that I would send the check after a clean PPI. I made it very clear that I would pay for your time to take the car for the PPI. I was strung along for a week. Either you had something to hide, or you were just looking for a buyer who would take it and run (like the guy from Washington who flew in, if that's the new story?). I'm sure it's a pain to move a low margin $40K car when you are used to the Lambo's. Mr. Allen, I even talked to you to get to Marko - explaining that he was not returning my calls (I keep good records). It was then that I was told it was sold. Sorry pal, you just can't treat customers that way. You did not apologize then, so do not bother dancing now. Including FoDenver, you two were the only dealers to jack me around when I was looking. Everyone else bent over backwards to help me out - many times going above and beyond. Lesson learned?

    Aloha!
    Jim
