    My oldest daughter (of 4) is getting ready for the prom. She will go to two proms, junior year and senior year. She has a big, fat magazine called "Your Prom" that looks like those big fat bridal magazines.

    Math shows I will buy 8 prom dresses.

    How much is this going to cost?

    No no no! A prom dress is more like $500+, especially if it were my daughter and I am not ferrari owner (yet). An average one tops at $500, $150 is cheap.

    Your worried about cost of dress? Someday when my now 6 year old is getting ready for her first prom my only concern about the dress, will be that she keep it on.

    Here's the deal....

    Get A VINTAGE prom dress, low mileage, good condition..

    Then after the prom you put the dress on resale consignment, sell it and return this money to the "Next Year's Prom Fund". Then you invest this wisely and the following year, do it again!

    There's some resale shops here in River Oaks, (you know where SkizoAce has just landed the modeling contract), that have some swank stuff!

    I took a date there to model a few, and by the time it was over, had seen all her skin ink!

    That helps with the Proms that have a "three tatoo minimum" at the door!

    Tell her to close the magazine and get her to a consignment shop, explaining that you want it to look good on HER, not some fashion magazine model.

    You've got to show them you'll spend the time to get it right, just not all that money. You'd be surprised the 'worn once' stuff those REAL rich folks sell off!
