First, get the chip off your shoulder. Second, they are NOT investments. 288's, F-40s, F-50s and some of the older cars are investments. 308's are not, and never will be. And you're not going to find a more knowledgeable group of 308 owners than you will on this site.

The quad. fog lights are not OEM. The Euro cars had two fog lights.

And you are an idiot for paying $52k for a 308qv, Euro or not. Despite the fact that every 6-months for the last two years, the 308 owners on f-chat all have a discussion that 308 values are 'going up', not one is going to agree you got a good car for the money.

Hey, it's only money. You've obviously got more of it than sense. More power to ya...

Exactly!! ExcelsiorZ reminds me of an old school used car dealer. I know all, you can't go wrong here, black is white, trust me, buy now before it is too late... You have to enjoy it. They are a dying breed.

The last error I will point out is the constant lumping together of 308/328 production.......

Sean F. and I like to break these numbers out year by year, starting in 1976, when the cars were produced in 20 car groups.....

That's LOW production, compared to any major manufacturer at the time.

    End of class.

We all drive GTBs anyway!

Look, i fully appreciate what you have done and yes it looks nice, yet like any mod it is YOU who will need to find a SPECIAL buyer. It seems many people desire a lower performance, more stock model. FYI, he pics below are the car here with modded suspension, different rims, dumped the CRAP stock seats for (IMHO) more proper ones.

The trick for you is to wait, and wait, and wait until the right buyer who actually wants the type of mods you did comes through. Even still, with the prices as they are for stock models, odds are $35k may be max. Sad but true my friend. You modded the car and i must say the engine and interior look great, yet the suspension mods and roof mod are an 'acquired taste' as it were.

And since you yelled... pic of the car here are below. Some folks love it, others feel i 'blinged' it out. Frankly i couldn't give a rat's patooty! My goal was for better handling, better braking, lower the weight, and a seat that actually keeps me in (5'11", 170lbs, 32" waist). But believe me, i am WAY 'upside down' on this car. That is MY choice. You made your choice.

Best bet, wait it out for a buyer who wants the same mods you did. Pure and simple. As for the others here who feel $35k is too high, they are entitled to their opinion. i am kinda on your side my friend BUT reality is what it is.

BTW, why did you leave the brakes stock? Also, those rims, as i recall, are heavier than stock so you have increased unsprung rotational mass(!).

DUAL fog lights on the front were never offered for the 308 and i hope you modded the wiring/added a proper relay. Naturally you have an intersting front grill so those dual fogs fit.

Hope you find the right buyer and get $55k. Try selling it at a B-J auction as the fools there pay stupid money for things.

They are now. If you don't think so, go try to find a nice, low mileage, mint condition Chevette. 308s are probably more common nowadays.

I find it funny that he bashes 328's - Meanwhile he is trying to sell one every other week! lol

Next time someone is trying to buy a 328 from him, offer him $30k - Remember to tell him how much they suck to support your offer.

Stephen, he IS the owner who paid $52k for the 308 on B-J (at least that's what he said earlier).

That or he's the seller in which case we should congratulate him on his luck.

"First, please people, as these Ferraris are not only sports cars but investments."

Wrong. Anyone who believes that these cars are an investment does not have a grip on reality.

"As for me, call me a snob," OK.

" but I spend a great deal of time travelling and, having extensively visited all of the world's major art musuems, consider myself well-exposed to art and design."

    Oh, brother!

Not the B-J 308. This is the modified one from ebay, and I can't tell if this is the seller or the buyer.

Something tells me if you were ever to sell your car (which I know you wont) you'd probably put the stock seats back in and have the original wheels and breaks to go with the car in a box. That would make the aftermarket items a bit of a plus. A new owner can then decide what he would like to keep stock or not.

If not you'd be better off moving the car back to stock and selling the aftermarket items separately. You wind up getting a higher dollar for them when it's all said and done.

Interesting. Lots of comments but still no photos of the critics' Ferraris!

Show what you know! Let's see those Ferraris!

Note, once upon a time they said the 246 Dino, not even sold as a "Ferrari", would not be a collectors car. Nice examples are now around $100k. Then again, I doubt the critics on this thread own a 246.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Money/Ferrari talks. Bull**** walks.

Thanks my friend and you are right. Not for sale... ever. Alas, the facts are:

Sold the stock seats to a fellow Fchatter (forget his name)

Gave the old stock shocks/springs to Verell for his help with the car

Sold the old front brake calipers and rotors to another Fchatter

Threw in the trash the stock metric rims, still have the Etoile rims for winter rubber (Blizzak 50's) and storage. The Kinesis K27/Mich Pilot Sport PS2 are for spring to late fall so they do not get ruined from sand/salted roads.

Gave away the stock exhaust to Birdman as he seemed to need it.

Gave Verell the original lighting, but this was really a 1:1 OEM replacement for new lighting all around, not really a mod

i could go on, but will stop here. Some parts i sold, others were given away to Verell, Birdman, and other local Fchatters who seemed to need them.

Basically, as you well surmised i never plan to sell the car. It will be here for a long, long time. LOVE the look and fun of the 308. Sure it is under powered in stock form. No doubt about it. Yet the driving FEEL when <cough> sane driving <cough> is hard to beat.

Don't be surprised if my next 'toy' is a Lotus... or the Noble(!).

    Enjoy THE DRIVE,

Will be kind as you are new here and might not be familiar with PAGES threads. Please see http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46220&page=3&pp=20

Please keep the 308 and wish you get $100k for it... but then we need to think about the ADJUSTED VALUE of the dollar versus, say, a normal/safe investment... The 308 was 'over produced' per se. Anyway, We can save that discussion for another time... unless you continue to get really pushy and overly obnoxious.

Bring it? IT'S ALREADY BEEN BRUNG! :)

    Ok, enough of this.

You're not going to be able to sell your viewpoint to the people here. Let it go. After all, you sold the car (right??) so why are you still hyping it?

Civilized discourse is valued here, do not push the level of this thread downhill. Your language is not appreciated. Go to Politics and Religion if you wish to insult and belittle people.
