Patrick, I've just returned from a great long weekend in AZ at Barrett Jackson and RM auctions to read this thread. I want to be the first to say that you're obviously a class act in addition to everyone else that freely participated and contributed to AutoRox. While everyone has their own opinion about the show, the bottom line comes down to the fact that you charitably contributed your time and machines to help Emil make AutoRox a success. You should all be commended for that and also be THANKED for your constructive criticism in order to better the show in its second iteration.

I proudly consider myself to be a part of the "EC" and I personally do not want the negative comments on this thread to be associated with the great group of friends I have made on this board. I just had to put in my 2 cents and I look forward to one day meeting some of the "WC" in my travels out to CA.

Looking forward to AutoRox 2006...

 

Eric, thanks for your post. I totally agree on the point about about "EC" and "WC" issue. I really DON'T want this to be "EC" vs. "WC" stuff. In fact, I really thank all the EC F-chatters for their PMs and emails they sent to me.

As we all know, it is a very small community and let's try to bring closure to this matter and move forward!

My sister lives in NYC so I'm in the area time to time. Maybe I can meet you guys at one of the future events!

Before reading my post, let me state that I am a frequent lurker of F-chat, but I rarley post in many informed threads as I dont feel I have the experiance or knowledge to really add anything to them, besides token comments of appreciation for pictures or other trivial things. That said, this thread got my blood boiling a good bit.

I'm a 20 year old Business student, who, along with many people, has aspirations of one day being successful and perhaps owning my own Ferrari. I have looked upon many of the car collections on this board with envy, especially Tube Guy's, and all his posts seem very professional and in good taste.

That said, Tube Guy, let me appologize for the current mindset and manners of many of my generation, apparently including robiferreti.

I can't stand when people seem to completley disregard general manners and polite attitudes, especially in favor of an elitist, "believe me I know" type of stance. Maybe I was just raised differently.

I completley understood where you were coming from and what you were suggesting from your first post, and how other posters took your comments as "whining" about not recieving some material trinket I have no idea.

Common' guys, if I can understand it at 20, you all should be able to as well: When someone does something for you, especially if it has an opportunity cost for them, show a little appreciation. How hard can it be?

I love this site and community, much more professional than most of the people I tend to be involved with online, and much more informative too! Heck, I can learn about Ferrari's and get inside the heads of successful, intelligent people all at once; it seems like I should be paying a fee!

Again, thanks guys. I would love to meet some of you in person some day, seems quite a few of you are located in Southern Cali, if I'm ever there I'll have to stop by some F-chat function or Crystal Cove or the likes. Regardless, I'm rambling again. Hope to be more involved in the future,

Yeah, I love this community for the great people I got to meet than the cars. I love cars, but at the end of the day, cars are cars... but the people you meet from this community are so amazing.

We have small arguments or disagreemnts time to time, but I think it's because this is such a tight community... (just like we have disagreements among family time to time).

Where are you located? If you're near WC, come out to Crystal Cove, or if you are in EC, check out some of their events. You'll enjoy the great cars, but I promise you that you'll enjoy the people so much more.

Currently I'm attending the University of Oregon. However, all my extended family lives in Southern California, and I plan to move there with my fiance sometime soon. But next time I've visiting I'll be sure to see if anythign is going on!!
