Hi Steve, Been a bit busy over the last few days. Request will be sent during the next couple of days. Regards Stewart
I've gone for October as it's my brithday month and am more likely to have excess cash floating around and time off from work.
If you do October a few of the passes may be blocked and you'd miss out on some superb driving... and why anyone wouldn't want to drive their Ferrari to it's spiritual home puzzles me, but I know there are many who don't. You would not believe the reaction you get driving a Ferrari in Italy, it is astounding and quite a lot of fun too... Quote Italian border guard complete with pistol " No No, no need passporte, you go first gear second gear go go, fast!" All I can say is that I am taking mine across in September as part of EuroHoon 05 and can't wait to drive the roads that featured in the EVO Pagani test a couple of months ago
It's a long way there and back, and when you are on a limited milage policy (3,000 per year in my case), I do not want to use up 40% in one go.
Bang it up to 5000, surely it wouldn't cost that much? and it'd be worth it in fun factor alone, it really would.
Guys, I received the following email from Maranello Sales today: "I would like to inform you that I will be able to accommodate your group of 8 friends (who will all need to be Ferrari owners) on the April Factory Tour. Please find enclosed a copy of the itinerary for your perusal. Unfortunately, I will need a confirmation by Monday 7th February and once you have booked I will be grateful if you could send your payment for £1,299 per person in full settlement of the above trip by Monday 14th February . Once again, thank you for the interest you have shown in the Factory Tour and I look forward to hearing from you soon." Are they taking the pi$$ or what? £1,299 each! Lets all hope the F-Chat tour comes off.
Failing that, take a look at EuroHoon in September - 10 days, France, Germany, Austria, down the Alps to Italy, Florence, Venice, Maranello, Modena and all around the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani stomping grounds. Awesome roads!
I can't sell the car with something like this in the potential pipeline... that and it's just got back from its service. Would love to combine this with my planned trip to Monaco. Did anyone read this months Ferrari Owners Club magazine about the trip to Italy? Will we be doing something like that? Got to get back to my 173 new clients so I don't have to sell the car.. and NO they''re not THOSE sort of clients! (thats at the weekend) "Hi I'm Cal, I just want to service you" he he Regards, Cal
You'll be alright in October, the passes don't normally start closing until end of november. And Burriana500's right....don't drive to Dusseldorf and then train the car from there. Train the car to Southern Germany or Switzerland and then head over the alps into Italy.
The letter has gone and i have received reciept of the same. Now all we have to do is wait for Luca to get back with his response,
Could you pls post the text of the letter so that we can see how you've gone about it. I'd really find that interesting. Thxs.
For those not visiting the factory, or who would like a souvenir given you can't take pictures inside, the current issue of the French magazine Sport Auto comes with a special Ferrari DVD that includes an excellent segment of about 10 minutes touring the factory. Also on the hour-long DVD they drive all the current range: Enzo, 612, F430, 575 GTC and 360 Spider. Of course the commentary is in French which might be slight disadvantage for non-French speakers... Jonathan
This does look exciting! I want to put my vote in for September, but as a kinda compromise, we could all go the last week in Sept? - I want the good weather! hehe Foxy x
