Anyone else like me that loves the old school PC games that came out on the C64 or early IBM? I ran across a really cool site that has a lot of these "abandoned" DOS programs available for FREE downloading. It's been a long time since I played King's Quest and this site has them ALL. Not to mention, Space Quest, Police Quest, Hero's Quest, etc. Don't forget to check out their LINKS section as well for several other sites just like this one!

    Enjoy!

I've got a bunch(300+) of Nintendo (original), SNES, and Genesis games on my mac. they are alot of fun. Sometimes I wonder why those games were so challenging when I was younger. :)

I can't tell you how many hours I've spent playing Duke Nukem. A classic.

You can go to www.midway.com and play a lot of their old arcade games for free. The original Spy Hunter, Joust, Defender, and quite a few others. The link is on the home page on the left side.

I spent a lot of hours playing Jumpman, Epyx Summer Games and Epyx Winter Games on my C64. Still have them downstairs, I should fire it up sometime.

Some memories on the C64: 'Raid Over Moscow', 'Apocalypse', and 'Ghostbusters'. Ah, the good ol' days of 1541 drives, with Epyx Fast Loader or Warp Speed cartridges, and 300bps modems (manual hand dial). You know, I actually had a program called '1541 Music' that played 'Daisey' by vibrating the drives head at different speeds. Probably wasn't the best for the drive, but it sure was cool. The C-64 is still the biggest brand selling computer ever, to this day.

Does anyone have access to the old Indy 500 PC game? It's over 10 years old now.

I used to work as a salesman at a huge computer store back in the early 90s (Elek-Tek) I think was the name of it. Anyways, being located in Indianapolis (Indy 500 land) I can remember when that game first came out and we had a real indy car on the showroom floor that was modded to fit a huge computer screen and the steering wheel actually controlled the game. Pretty cool for old-school technology back then.

Duke Nukem is definitely a classic. I remember if you pressed shift and one of the "F" keys he would say some hillarious quote... "You're an inspiration for birth control" and "Hail to the king baby!".

BTW, Anyone remember how every "Old School" game back in the days had to be "setup" through DOS? Sound Blaster 16 was my audio card....Sooo ancient.

I thought Duke Nukem was a mid-90's Windows 95 game. DN and Tomb Raider no.1 were on the shelves when I bought my first-ever PC in Dec. '96.

Choplifter Ruled! I also loved Escape from Castle Wolfenstein for Apple II plus.

There was a more modern version of choplifter where the map would change after each victory, and you could buy tanks and soldiers and stuff to capture buildings along your axis of advance.

Also, there was a game called Dr. Goodnight or something like that that used a decoder at the end to help you save the world from a doomsday device. Anyone remember?????
