The leather on my dash is starting to shrink around the vents , time to recover I think . Has anyone had theres done ,if so how did it look and who did you use to do it ? Thanks Bill
I just did my dash..picked it up this morning. $685.00 . I don't think the referral to him will help you since you are so far away. Mario
I just did mine , what a pain in the ###, would be alot easier now I know what to do , Check your pm . Bill
Bill - Any time you use the phrase 'it would be a lot easier now that I know what to do' on FChat you should be posting the procedure in as much detail as possible (and pictures if you have them)! I see that you may have passed it along in a PM - please share with the group. Stuff like this ends up in the archives and can help people for years down the road. Let us learn from your experience! Thanks!
I was going to explain it over the phone , Ill try and post some pics ,at leaset you can where everthing goes . Its already out so I cant post pics of that but when i get it back i can do a step by step of how to instaill it if that helps .
I did find one interesting thing out in this , when i was removing the plastic around the stearing coloum to remove the sticky goo ,I cracked it . At frist I was terrified by what Ferrari would charge for such a part , but a brand new on is only 160 dollars for the top and bottom , Not bad . would have cost more in time to refinish it .
Bill, I can send you pictures of the dash when my car is completed. My gauge bezzle and airbag were fine. However, I brought those to him as well and he redyed them to match...They looked great !!!! So you may want to send those 2 other items as well for the perfect match. He is a small shop in West Sacramento....typical place that you wouldn't find even if you tried. Garren Automazing upholstrey 916-376-0250 370 Maple Street West Sacamento, CA 95691 I would mention that Mario referred you...(he just did completed my dash on Monday) P.S. I had another shop do my dash before Garren did it ... yuck..yuck...yuck...they hashed it and it looked terrible. This guys work was 100 times better...he had to strip everything off from the previous shops bad work. P.S.S. I you want to send it to me...and I can send it to him...that is fine too
Had mine done at FoW for about $2,500 Just finished it, haven't seen it yet, but it has to be better than it was Stan
I had the dash on my TR and Boxer redone at a local upholstery shop for $400.00 each. I did the R/R of the dash myself though. The name of the shop was The Mad Stitchers in Chamblee(Atlanta),Georgia and he did a great job.
