Drove it today, in the dry about 60 miles, upset a few people one of them give me a hand gesture, its not my fault they drive a ford escort. I probably made them jump as I overtook. I love the sound of acceleration and the feel as you go round the bends, I love the smell and the noise and the sight of the road opening up in front of me, I love the rush as the scenery flicks past my window, i want to go faster, i want to go furtheri want to pull back and lift off, to soar to 3000 ft and look at all those w?????s stuck to the ground. And I love my FERRARI. A twin turbo japanees thing(they all look the same) had a go so I changed down a gear and left him a couple of hundred yards behind me, flicked over the roundabout and headed down the straight towards home and didnt see him again, perhaps he thought i was a w????r, perhaps he thought he needed a 328 gts, perhaps he was too old, no matter I was enjoying myself, this car is fantastic, this car is red, this car is a FERRARI, this car is old, 18 years old, you dont see many 18 year old fords doing it at 130mph plus, I bought the right car this time. My last car is a porsche 3.0L S2, a great car but it feels like a toy after my FERRARI, I have to step down to get out of it, the clutch is light, the steering is light, I can get it into 2nd gear, the seat is comfortable, the windows go up and down with a German precision, 'but' it does sound a bit Mickey Mouse after the V8, I love the S2 but it sits out side now because the garage is full with FERRARI. ps. I would love to hear some of your driving experiences because I know you love yours as much as I love mine. CHRIS.
There's a few of this sort of thread across on general discussion. I know what you mean though. Personally I reckon the gestures and flashing lights are a sign of apreciation...
First of all, nice car!! I have a hard time believing you left a twin turbo japanese anything a few hundred yards behind. Maybe an early 300ZX, but that's about it, and it certainly wouldn't be a few hundred yards behind you. You car, while fast is hardly capable of break neck acceleration. You might want to loose that attitude of yours, have a little respect for cars in general, whether it be a ford escort or a japanese thing.
Chris, I completely figure out, what you are talking about You don't have to appreciate ricers or Escorts. Thanks for sharing your emotions. Best Regards from Germany Martin 308 GTB (probably much 'slower' than yours, but who cares)
The touble with written messages is this, 'I was not being arrogant when I wrote it and I was certainly not driving like a mad man I have the greatest respect for other road users i do not take risks (i have 3 young children) i did not write the piece to try and evoke a cinical response, I was just trying to say how much i love my Ferrari and driving.' Chris.
I think you'll have to subscribe to post pics here. (Just sayin'.) You could post a link to the pics on a web page somewhere. (Many DSL accounts come with a limited web page hosting service. Dunno about cable modem accounts.)
