Ok I've been here about a month I think and I've been posting a bit.

I am 16 and I looove Ferraris. The only ones I have seen are 3 Testarossas and 1 360 modena. Probably some older ones too but unfortunately I can't really recognize them as clearly and don't know most of their names. I drive a 1988 Plymouth Voyager and it's not even mine.

As many owners have found out, I like to ask people for pictures of their cars :)
I might've annoyed some people on accident in other threads but everybody here is nice that I've talked to and roccapulombo (sorry i think i slaughtered your name there) even said he'd give me a ride in his 360 Spider!!! since we live in the same city.

Hopefully one day I will own a black F50.

    that's all!

Hello Jeremiha. I am originally from San Diego and lived their for 13 years, it was great. Such a beautiful city. I'm around your age (17) and have loved Ferrari's ever since I first met one here in Vegas while I was still living in San Diego. I also hope to own one someday, but I know that someday is a LONG way away from now!

    Welcome!

You will have a better chance of finding one if you move to Europe. There were only three imported to the United States. And welcome!

    Hello

My name is Jason and I really, really like Ferrari's. So I found ferrarichat.com, ferrarilist.com, and subscribed to Forza. For the past year I have been learning a lot and love learning more every day.

I will own an 8 cyl and a 12 cyl. First the 8cyl will be a 360 or 430. I will decide on a 12cyl after my experiences. I cannot yet visualize if the 12cyl will be a "modern" 2+2 (kids on the way) or an older one. I just know I really, really like 12cyl + tubi.

Every day my wife and I look forward to Ferrari ownership. I can't wait to fire up our Ferrari and burst out laughing with giddiness + goose bumps!

I should join a local club but intentionally delay. I have never sat in nor had a ride in a Ferrari. I am afraid that I'll run out and buy one before my time. I start to rationalize buying one after just a simple spotting! And the wife is no help; we have the fever, bad.

Hello Jason, ever thought about better to own a 308/348 today than a 360 tomorrow?

Are these Ferraris that might appreciate in value in the next few years or are they at rock bottom forever?

If I were to get an older model I would look at some kind of 512 for the same type of look as the 348 but with more cylinders. Wait, someone help me, I have a plan, delayed gratification, must ... hold ... out ... ;-)

At least it's winter now and I haven't seen a Ferarri in months. Once I get one I think I will have to move to a better climate come first snowfall!

    Best regards,

Dave, I felt the exact same way you do about justifying the purchase of a Ferrari. I had this horrible guilt feeling when I bought my first F-car. I felt selfish, spoiled, and completely self absorbed. I even went to my daughters Christian high school right after the purchase and donated some money to them.

Then I had a long talk with myself.

The way I now see it is that there is never going to be a "good" time to buy an F-car. You can always find reasons to talk yourself out of it. Even better, you can always find friends that will tell you you're crazy to buy a Ferrari and then proceed to validate the idea that you already had about not owning one.

I thought of a million ways that I could have spent my $$ more conservatively then buying a "Toy". The problem is that you do get older every year and pretty soon there isn't many years left to enjoy what you've dreamed about for so long.

But until you have owned one you'll never even come close to knowing the joy driving one of these cars brings its owner. You'll then be left asking yourself this question. "Why didn't I get one sooner?" They aren't out of reach.

    John

PS I don't live in a city either, but I do most of the work on my cars myself

Ah, to see the marrage w/ 4RE BOB. You devil cat you. Interspecies dating is allowed in this room, right?
More importantly, you don't have to have a Ferrari to dream of one. Welcome.

Well, you said you wanted a 8 cyl first. The 360 and 430 are depreciating quite a bit still, but maybe by the time you buy one they'll be leveled off like the 308's to 348's. You should never count on any Ferrari appreciating.

    Jason,

If you haven't already, you might want to give some thought to joining the Ferrari Club of America. There is an Eastern & Central Canada Region, of which I am a member - and no, I am not an owner...yet (one day the dream will happen). Until I joined the club, I had only admired Ferraris from afar. The first time I actually sat in a Ferrari & got a ride was as a member of the club at of of the club's track days. The price of membership is fairly reasonable. If you would like more info, send me a Private Message. The E&CCR is having its Annual General Meeting on the 11th of February (this coming Friday).

    Welcome to F-Chat!

Hi. I am Zack. I divide my time between Northeast Ohio and Southern California (Orange County). I don't have a Ferrari (and if the market keeps going like this, I won't ever). I've been interested in cars for a long time.

You'll most likely see me post in the Business/Investment and SoCal sections of the forum.

I think we should have a timepiece forum as well .
