Was going to part ex my 360 Modena in when i get my DB9, already agreed a part ex with Aston which looked pretty good. However, a friend of mine who is a trader has got a guy wanting a red 360 F1 with crema leather, under 15,000 miles. They came and saw it today and has offered me £86,000 for it.
2001 360, F1, will have 13,000 miles in it after our weekend away, only extra is a cd changer. Its been very well looked after, but jeez , £86,000 ! Im over the moon.

A car is worth what someone will pay for it ! (he is a top Scotland Yard copper)

Having read Ades thread i think his workmates have been deciding which model would be best before having a whip round for a leaving present.

I have no idea , i have no clue as to what top 'police' people earn. But i guess they can make money on the side working as security consultants, etc etc, just a guess though !

What he does for a living is irrelevant.. he could have inherited it / won it for all we know.

Still, that's a very good price.. I'd take his hand off for it.

I was offered a 2001 360 Spider for £73,000 today albeit with a few miles on it.

That sounds like a good price for a Spider. How does one come across opportunities like this? I'm been looking for a value for money F-car for a while now.

According to these boards it is totally relevant. The Question to my knowledge as come up at least three times as a Thread heading

I have met hundreds of Ferrari owners and to my recollection not one as been a Policeman regardless of rank. I do know of several plumbers though.

One posting on the international board run for several weeks on the subject of " what do Ferrari owners do for a living"

He could have inherited the money, he could have won the lottery.

    He could have............................................................

not something i would do. It would be quite under hand and dis-respectful for me. The guy wants a discreet deal which i think is why he hasnt gone through a main dealer, and asked this guy to find him one instead. There is always the chance that a photo of him in the sun etc could put him in danger - maybe my thinking is too James Bond, but not something i would do.

I might try and buy the car back from him when he has finished with it though, might find its number plate is exept from Speed Camera's !

Didn't think you would for one minute Reggie, you are obviously a man of means, and more importantly, scruples.

Me however, I'm skint and as shallow as a paddling pool :D

I believe it was a kit car, not sure if it was meant to be "real" in the series. The Pinto exhaust sort of gave it away.

Given that high court judges are on hundreds of £000's, I'd imagine a top Copper would get paid a fair bit.

    Or, maybe he's financed it?

Good luck to you Reggie, but why anyone would pay £86K for a 4 year old 360 is beyond me! For an extra 20K he could have a new one! Guys like Reggie are laughing all the way to the bank when idiots are prepared to give them back most of their new car purchase price. Reggies depreciation has been £5k per annum! Keep those suckers coming!!!!

I'm more surprised you got a good p/ex of an Aston dealer than a top price of a private buyer. I was offered a row of beans and a cup of tea for my DB7 (2 owners, me and the Chairman of Aston Martin, £15k of factory upgrades to GT spec) on my DB9.

Yes, i was suprised. They offered me £79,000 for my 360 , which i thought was very good. It might have something to do with my having bought a DB7 GT from them, ordered a DB9 Volante, AMV8 , and have a letter in in case they ever make a convertable Vanquish, but thats highly doubtful im told.

Kevin Moore at AML Newport Pagnell tells me a convertible Vanquish (or a proper manual) are non-strarters because of the way the car is constructed around the carbon fbre tunnel running down the spine. God knows if he's right, but it sounded convincing!

I am holding off on spec'ing MY DB9 (I had a May manual slot that I swapped back to November) to see the AMV8, which I think I may prefer to the 9.
