    hey guys, im going to repalce my ecu which is located behind the rear shock tower controls [1/4], any one have a part number and a pic? its for a 1990 348ts, thanks >>>> john

    Haven't got a picture of the ignition module fitted to the car, only from the parts manual - the part number is 132216

    I think John is talking about the ECU for the exhaust thermocouple, not the Motronic ECU. The exhaust ECU is the one behind the shock tower.

    The part number is 142581 (unless it has been superceded), and it's the same part for either the left side or the right side. When I purchased these about four years ago, they listed for $307.82 each.

    Here is a picture of one removed from my car.

    thanks malcolm, this is the small black box behind the shock tower with 2 wire plugs coming from it ? if so, i just priced it and holly sh%t. 1900 us dollars. i did find one used for 550 us dollars, worth it ? to buy used that is.

    We're talking about item #37 in this diagram.

    Come to think of it, there was a thread in the old Ferrari Chat about building your own exhaust ECU, using a hobby board and components from Radio Shack. If I remember correctly, you could adjust the ECU to trigger the overheat warning at different temperatures, depending on the variable resistance built into the system. I know there were pictures, but I don't remember how long ago it was (two years?) or who did it.

    John: I purchased mine at Ferrari of Seattle (206-329-7070) (www.ferrariofseattle.com), but any dealer should have these in stock, as they fail pretty regularly.

    I would have thought that a new Bosch Motronic 2.7 module would cost a lot more than $1900 ??? Was that a dealer quote?

    yes that was a dealer quote for new, also said he would knock a few bucks off if i needed it, hopefully i wont need that for a long long time.
