Some years ago, there ws a shop in Phoenix, Arizona, that turned 308/328 into convertibles, and also made a body kit for the 308/328 that duplicated the exotic GTO Evoluzione. Anyone know where the molds are today?
    Thanks!!

Yeah, its Butch Hooper with Italian Racing and Design, out of Arizona. He still has the kits for around $8k. I have bought allot of stuff from him in the past and ordered more than $8k from him on a couple occassions. He is reliable. Here is the link to his site.

Muteki: I used the link you sent and contacted Butch Hooper. He bought the business from the guy I originally met, Jim Carpenter, now living in Washington. Carpenter also made a conversion putting a P4 body on I think a 308/328. Hooper's 288 GTO body looks more authentic than Berlinetta's.

I am getting that much closer to my goal, thank you again.

I read the article in Performance Car ( a British Magazine ) in the late 90's. Pretty interesting stuff on the GTO replica, if I'm not mistaken, turning the engine from a transverse into a longitudinal one, if I can recall. The mag also tested the GTO rep around a certain US track, and the car is putting out circa 500bhp..awesome ! The P4 copy was also featured, albeit a scary ride for the author..Anyways, good luck to you in realizing your dreams.

You looking for Jim? Why didn't you say? I talk to him all the time as well. He is not quite as fast as Butch, but he usually has better prices. Here is his email: [email protected]

No problem. I had this information readily availible since i was looking into the conversion before as well. I eventually decided against it. I want a real GTO with the twin turbos. The look of the GTO kicks ass, but I feel I would be cheating myself from my real goal. If I don't have the look alike, I think I will work harder to get to my goal of the actual 288GTO. I decided that when I finish my 308 restoration, I will probably sell it to move up another notch on the ladder and go for a Testarossa. Please post pics as you go along with your project. I would love to see them. You'll be building my dream car.

As far as Jim Carpenter ;do not trust this man. He screwed me out of $2,000 and sold to me incorrect parts from what he claimed they would be. His reputation for inferior quality is well known.
