What does everyone think the fair price is for S and T reg 355 F1 Spider with around 20T on the clock, both current and in a year's time?

Right, 99 plates was the last reg a car was done in the UK from an official Ferrari UK Garage, and if it is an 2000 plate then it's a malaysian import or an import of some kind, ask Maranello and they'll verifiy this, so watch out!!

I'd pay 50k private for a 99T with 20k on the clock with a new clutch tyres and a large service (cambelts)!! Check exhaust manifolds also, and rear wheels sqeaking, they will set you back 1-2k also.

It was around 106 grand new with options maybe costing 2-3k like calipers/hood/paint/music/tyres so around 50% of that with all the trimmings ready to roll.

Must have never been accident damaged, bumper replacements ok, I'd say as I bust mine cos it was so low.

355's are steel welded on to aluminium I think you know where the roof meets the nice sweepiung lines, so don't worry about tiny bubbles or marks here, it's the norm I think.

How much better is your 360 than the 355 and what are the main differences?

You say you'd pay 50k for a 99 but they're always priced higher than that arn't they?

I must admit that I've never seen a private sale in the £50 mark recently. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

That seems a bit on the high side. I've seen similar mileage spiders priced only 2K more.

50K...? Ive never seen a '99 spider for 50K..... thats a realistic price for auction/trade, but its very risky buying that way unless your in the industry and have access to 'cost' labour rates - rather than £85 p/h us punters put up with.

Reckon what you have described is going to be right on the top end of the 355 market. Pretty much as expensive as you can get. 60-65K ish, depending on how much cash has been spent on it.

One year on... well based on last two years... 4K less.

Adee, I'm with you on this one. £50k for one of the last 355 Spider F1's? Unlikely. Private, maybe high 50's, but dealer wise you're nudging into the 60's for a good'un.

Barabus, firstly the downforce in a 360 coupe is much more noticeable when travelling at 100+ or on a sweeping windy road with dips, it's not that noticeable on a straight bit or motorway or track, great in tunnels, but it's got a tinnier exhaust note, but the 355 is a fantastic car with great noise with the roof down, the early ones are gruntier as they changed the ECU in 96 and in my opinion and is very hard to beat, for todays money, and gents I was going on trade prices and not dealer forecourt prices, basically a 355 spider was in Ebay for 57k with no bids and it was a trader I believe as he was advertising 4 cars, and it was 20k F1 spider in the right colour rossa/crema, it might have even had calipers/shields/etc, all I'm saying if you want to buy private pay around that 50-52k'ish, and if you want to pay more then feel free to do so, as everything is only worth the demand it has, and to be honest they are in demand, but there are enuff for the demand too, so it's a close call.

If you do the maths gents the car should only be demanding around 50k as it's residual is no higer than 50% I'd say.

The rear wheel sqeaking isn't common I believe but it's basically water runs down through the engine and into the wheel area, and when drying out rusts.....causing a squeaking noise as the hub rubs the rust off the bearing.
Alot of the 355 isn't aluminium, it's steel so is prone to rusting. Hope I've got that right, not great with metals!! think thats the jist of it anyway. Manifolds are a very common problem too, they just crack under heat strain, mines did it when I took it to spain for a few months, and it was a pain as it only went away when it was hot, it creates alound ticking noise, as the engine turns over. Hope that helps anyone about to buy. It won't affect it's MOT thought as mines passed even thought it needed welded.

With new 430 out take 10k off your car a year easily!! 4k is not rnuff unless you got a bargain amd we all know they don't exist in the real world...;-)

I was offerred a 348 spider for 28k last week, and it was red/creme, would you have paid that?

Agreed. Having spent a few months looking around for my spider, a £50k late model just doen't exist. You'd be looking at £58k+ even for a privare car imo.....

What you say makes sense, but a 360 Spider is up to 40K more, so more 'spider' customers are forced into only being able to consider a 355 spider, hence making market larger.

Thing about that Ade is I think cos there is no 430 spiders as of yet they are still pretty expensive but they will fall I reckon a good 10k when the 430spider hits the street or in the first 6 months of that anyway.

Market trends are easy stuff and to be honest I think the 360 coupe is a better car, but a 355 spider is a better spider IMO.

F1 gear changes are the dogs for me, so mine would have to be a F1 box too which is just ever so slightly more expensive, although when I sold my F1 360M I was told it made no difference, garages!!..... it's always the negatives when your selling, and the positives when they are selling!!
