Has anyone a Krankvent on your Ferrari? If so, does it perform as claimed?

I have them. I put them on about a year ago can at least tell you the engine has not broken from it. That's about it.

Now that the old fchat is online, search it for Krankvent. I remember at least 1 very long thread w/opinions & details as to how it's supposed to work.

Don't remember any dyno #s tho.

Dyno numbers show that installing Krankvents has exactly the same horsepower increase as installing chrome plated muffler bearings.

I chose the satin finished muffler bearings as I wished to keep my car in its orginal condition from the factory.

IMO, since the internal crankcase volume varies much, much less on a multi-cylinder engine with a balanced physical layout, the "Krankvent" principle is less exploitable than on the unbalanced 2-cyl HarleyDavidson layout (for which it was developed), but, if it lowers the average crankcase pressure relative to the stock set-up, that would be a good thing -- e.g., less "leak-prone" over the long term (which is why the whole Krankvent thing got started -- HD engines blowing out oil/oil seals).

It's fair to criticize the Supplier for not having any supportable, meaningful data to back up the claims of "goodness" for using a Krankvent in a F application, but without your own data to show otherwise, it's unfair to imply that it's not effective at all.

JMOs (and we need an average crankcase pressure measurement comparison data more than RWHP data).

i installed the krankvents because i read in "ferrari guide to performance" that the stock 308 crankcase ventillation system was very poor. ie: using an oil separator as a one way valve and an anitdrainback mechanism. these new krankvents have a very sophisticated one way valve that is designed to keep zero crankcase pressure. the system is cleaner and has fewer parts than the stock setup that was oozing oil all over the place.

That's basically why I installed them.
