When I collected my 550 yesterday the dealer told me that the Fiorano handling pack on the 550 wasn't just uprated springs, but also larger brake discs, red calipers and a remapped ECU, and uprated rear antiroll bar.

    Is that right ?

Another source says it has a quicker rack, lowered 15mm and racing pads.

I'm not too bothered, but curious.

    BTW: Here's a pic of it http://www.evoposters.net/carsa/Ferrari-550/DSC00026

Beautiful car - enjoy the understated elegance and the overpowering torque!

Link doesn't quite work, but I got there in the end.

WOW - you change car a lot - how do you manage to switch so often without taking a major bath in the depreciation?

I've had some low-speed squealing, but most of my cars have done this in the past with weird + wonderful pads fitted.

I took a major bath with the Porsche GT2.. not nice.. but that kept on going down and down even after I sold it, so lucky I got out when I did ! (every cloud etc.)

    David,

I thought the Fiorano handling pack came out for the 575 and there wasn't one for the 550. There were probably various brake upgrades available (listed as Ferrari part numbers but always re-badged Brembo kit), but not aware of suspension / handling upgrades on the 550.

    I could be wrong....

I'm afraid you are :)

I think the fiorano pack was introduced on the 550 for model year '00.

No problem. We live and learn...

I went off to the owners site and Ferrari.it (which now redirects to ferrariworld.com, not the most useful site in the world) to see if I could search for and post here some proper specs for the FHP, but sadly the search facility couldn't seem to find any....
    Sorry.
