    Greg,
Don't mean be a cheap a$$, but how much are we saving at this point by getting them in a group order? If we're only saving $20 each, its not worth your hassle - your call though.

Btw, you can ship mine to your house if you like, bc I'm sure I'll see you in the coming months to get them.

Please note, I want the smallest possible extinguishers if you do order them.
    Thanks,
    David

Well compared to H3R's online price it's a savings of $56 including shipping. $99 vs $154.95 on the 2,5lb cans. So it's just a matter of if they can ship direct to me.

Sounds good. If the savings is still substantial, count me in! I'm sure I can get it from you sometime, Greg, so just arrange delivery in whatever way is most convenient to you. Thanks again for orchestrating this all.

Glad to see this is still going Greg. Couple of q's:

    - Are the mounts a "snap in" procedure? I assume no drilling is required, but want to confirm.

    - Jay raises a good point - should we check with our new FChat sponsor for what they have, and what kind of discount they can cut for the EC.

drilling req'd AFAIK - however I will be fabricating a mount which attachs to my seat rail bolts - clean and easy to undo later on.

Im on it this week - will definitely give them a shot.

Apples and oranges Jay. I had a nice conversation with the mktg mgr @ H3R earlier today. Their product is genuine Halon, which is much harder to source these days. It is superior in many ways, and I thought it was no longer available at this point. They are one of only a handful of companies still maintaining an inventory of the real stuff.

I am currently working on a deal with H3R, and I hope to announce details shortly.

Oh. Just noticed the diff. Halatron vs Halon :) Whichever the group decides to go with I'm cool with.

    Thanks Greg.

Glad to have you doing all this legwork for us- that is, as long as it eventually pays off (otherwise I'd feel bad you're doing all this legwork for us...)

Sounds like you're getting there so I look forward to going along with whatever your final recommendation is. :)

In recognition of President's Day, Bob Marley's 60th B-day, and the relentless pressure of Ferrari Chat member Greg G, we are pleased to offer Ferrari Chat members 15% off on any of our home/vehicle Halon fire extinguishers.

This offer is good until Friday, Feb. 25. The first 100,000 purchasers will also receive a FREE H3R fire extinguisher magnet for their fridge!

Go to http://www.h3r.com/ferrari.htm for instructions on how to get the discount on line. Clicking on our banner ad (which should be updated soon) will also take you to the instructions.

Halon is the best stuff out there for your Ferrari. Twice as powerful as Halon alternatives like Halotron 1 (always look at the UL rating, not the weight). Does not corrode surface finishes or electronics like cheap dry chemical extinguishers can - in fact, it leaves no residue whatsoever. Nothing to clean up. Please see that attached pdf for more information.

All of our units come with secure brackets for mounting. These are the same extinguisher-bracket combinations that we market to the aviation industry.

    Thanks everyone!

Thanks Chris. And thanks again Greg G for your relentless pressure to bring this about... :)

Thanks for the generous offer Chris... this is a great deal guys!!!

The unit I'd suggest is the 2.5lb C352TS and C352TSC (red or chrome). It is reasonably compact with a more than adequate amount of halon.

Advice for my EC brothers... act fast if you want the RED color - I believe he has a limited supply of those available.

Lets make this group buy a success!

    Greg

    greg,

u posted this earlier before in the thread:

"So far it looks like I can secure these prices thru the company I contacted, if not tighten them up a little better:

    Red 2.5 $79
    Chrome 2.5 $105"

for the H3R Extinguisher Model C352TS.

this price wont be honored? cuz 15% off a chrome one will be $141.91, which is 40% more than the original $105 deal.

Hubert - If I'm not mistaken those were for Amerex brand Halotron-1 not H3R, and the difference is genuine Halon with H3R versus some sort of Halon alternative with most everywhere else.

I don't really know exactly what the differences are (other than that Halon is hard to get since it's no longer produced) but everyone seems to say that Halon is the best to have.

Greg, let me know if I'm reading this right. Thanks.

Geoff is correct. That original price was for a different product from a different company. Scroll back and reread the thread. That $105 was for the Halotron material, which is good, but genuine Halon is superior. Chris Dieter of H3R explained that it takes twice the amount of Halotron-1 to equal the effectiveness of pure Halon. I originally didnt think that pure Halon was an option these days. More expensive...? Yes, but justifiably worth it.

Ultimately, I elected not to do business with the original company as well. H3R has been nothing but professional thus far. Sorry for the confusion Hubie.

In. Great offer Chris - thanks for sharing this with the community.

A quick question on mounting: I know the mounting bracket comes with it extinguisher, but how does it mount? Do you have to drill any holes, or does the mount attach to the part of the seat / side?

    Greg, thanks for coordinating.

    Thx.

Yes, brackets require drilling for safe install. Where and how you drill is up to you. Im going to be alittle creative and fabricate a bar to mount the included bracket to my seat frame which can be easily undone at a later time. I believe Michael355 installed his in the front bonnet. Clyde has his on the firewall between his seats.

Here are a few random Stradale pix I found online to help give you some other ideas. Keep in mind the OEM Stradale canister is the slightly larger 5lb model.

I'll bet Gus @ Tecnik1 would help you guys make something slick.

Greg, if you can figure out a way to mount to the seat bracket, that's probably the way I'd want to go as well. I assume you can turn the extinguisher approx. 120 degrees when mounting to the seat, as there's a risk that a passenger's foot might hit the handle the way it is currently mounted, no? I understand there is a safety pin, but still...
