Yes, they are vector-based shapes so they scale up and down very nicely. The file format out of the program is SVG, which is a tricky format to convert to G-code to run a CNC plasma torch with. I've had to code my own conversion utility. I intend on doing some 3ft x 2ft sculptures, so scaling up smoothly is a big deal. The program is VectorEye by the way. I want a nice portrait of my Mondial to hang in my office at home, and a matching series of portraits for each successive Ferrari I'm able to aquire! Somehow a metal sculpture seemed more appealing to me than a painting.
It's hard to make this look good when the original is so perfect, it's not unlike running a Van Gogh through Photoshop. [Edited to add a semi-crappy vector image that needs some work..] -Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here's one I did of my own car: Done in Pastels: http://img99.exs.cx/img99/989/360pastel26yb.jpg Done in Watercolor: http://img148.exs.cx/img148/8577/360pspwatercolor28nb.jpg
I composed a print and had it printed on canvas from a photography company. It was called gliche printing I believe. When I got the canvas (16 x 20) you could not tell it was not a painting. It tends to be a bit pricey tho. 16 x 20 cost me right at 100 bucks. Here is the image I had printed: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jerry Thanks! They look cool. I have a similar one to the 1st one but brighter and with a better composition - more color from the times square background. If I get a chance to scan it in I will post it for your input. Thanks again. Art S.
That is an awesome pic - I think it will turn out incredible. I will do it when I get home from work - Can't wait!
Jerry, I look forward to it. If it would help, I can send you a higher resolution version. Let me know. Art S.
