http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=4529333955&rd=1 $88,000 US - Buy it now price. Consider the visual condition and interior color combi, does this price strike people as on the high side?
From all appearances, it seems like a nice car, and the price is fair market. However, for a 7100m car, the gas pedal seems a little bit worn, as is the left side of the driver's seat. I would tread very carefully with any 22 year old car that has such little (registered) mileage. Has anybody else seen this car before? Histories?
This guy also has a 328 for sale on Ebay, as well as a BMW, Mercedes and a Corvette...he must be a dealer/broker.
I am noticing the body colored side mirror housings, dont think they came that way. Then there are the engine covor vents, msdesign seems to have proven that cars did come from thre factory this way, but did this one, or is it a repaint. Interiors on boxers dont wear well, seats look about normal but there are serioius grease stains on interior. If anything it looks like it could have had a dash retrim. The speaker cover on passenger side seems to be a bit worn for a car with low mileage, and there is some surface rust on the screw heads holding the overflow tank, probably normal for a florida car. I would say this car has been repainted. If mileage is genuine, what service has been done, because if it hasent had belts hoses shocks rubber brakes etc figure on 10k-15K to put it absolutly right.
There was a Boxer at my local dealer. Bought for $62K from BJ. Figure $25 - 30K to make it v. nice. Separately, Continental has one which if it is the car I know is a FABULOUS example for $82,500. Philip
Yes. I have been dealing with him recently and he has been very curteous and helpful. In my experience he exerted no pressure, and was both candid and responsive.
It looks like someone welded on a metal plate to seal up a hole/crack in the expansion tank. They are made out of pretty thin metal and after 20+ years start developing pin hole leaks, cracks. The tank should just be replaced, it's bound to fail in another spot. Mine was replaced at 15K miles (21 years old). Image Unavailable, Please Login
The driver's seat generally and especially the left side seat bolster look to have more than 7000 miles worth of wear. It appears that the sticker in the rear window is from Shelton. You might try calling them and see if they know anything about its history.
With this kind of seat wear the story line usually goes like " The previous owner weighed 300 lbs, or it was in a museum with lots of people getting in and out just to sit in such a car." The red piping really does look great though.
It sold on EBay. That's the second in just a couple days. $88,000 that's a nice number to see. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=4529333955&rd=1
