I don't remember. I think I was looking on the internet for all things Ferrari one late night...maybe Google. I seem to be losing my memory. Where am I? ...maybe Google. ...help...I'm lost.
I drive a 993tt when I'm in China and was on the Rennlist 993tt forum when I chanced upon one of the members writing about how interesting an F355 Spider was and that more info can be gleaned from F-chat. The link was provided and presto! I found the most enjoyable car forum in the world...
The "I got beat by a Subaru" Thread from awhile back. Someone posted it over on SRO and I followed the link read the thread, I think I posted in the thread, and then I looked around the rest of the website and decided I liked the place. Still not much of a Ferrari fan though.
Was searching back in 2002-03 for practical info on owning F-cars and this was one of the first websites that the search engine found.
Had just acquired a Mondial and then had a nagging question about which engine oil to use, a humdrum question. I decided to try the net, used Google to throw up sites, logged on to F-Chat and spent an hour studying it. Then asked my question. Within 24 hours, f-chatters had told me all I needed to know and more. I was flabbergasted at the speed, goodwill and thoroughness of the answers, and said so in thanks. Been on ever since and have met the occasional UK F-Chatter.
A co-worker that had recently purchased a 308 had it up on his screen when I came by to talk to him. 8 months later I bought one. I have the site open the entire time I am at work. Trading one addiction for another. Hi, I'm Spasso, I am a Ferrarichataholic. * "Hi Spasso, Keep coming back.*"*
Made the treck from FL to Monterey for the 2004 Concorso and the Monterey Historics. My wife and I drove down to the Baja Cantina (as we always do when were in Monterey) from our motel in Carmel Valley. There were lots of Ferraris there (no surprise) as well as a private party on the lawn next to the restaurant. After dinner we drove to the Mariposa Inn for The Annual tomyang.net Monterey Get Together. (Thanks to Tom Shaughnessy for making the arrangements.) At the get together I talked to Steve from L.A. who was sure hed met me at the FerrariChat.com get together. To that point I hadnt heard of FerrariChat.com but as soon as I got back to FL I checked it out! Been hooked ever since.
Did a search for anything on Ferrari after I discovered first on Ebay, then through further investigation, that Ferraris could once again be bought by regular people. I found Fchat and Tom Yang's board at the same time in Oct. 2001.
A mention of Fchat was made back on the FerrariList email list back in 2000 or 2001 when Fchat was getting started. Lurked for quite a while and finally registered in Nov 2001
Mike at Norwood's told me to try and sell my Tubi on Ferrarichat, and it's been a great 14 month ride.
I was on viperclub and someone posted something about ferraris, I looked over the site and felt this was a better place for me. The viper people are all about who is faster.
I actually found FChat while searching for videos of Ferraris and found a post from Allan Lambo about Lambos and how much better they were compared to Ferraris or something. And then I started searching the site for more videos and then pictures and then realised I could not see pictures unless I signed up and I could not stop looking at all the Ferrari stuff on here so I started posting and now this place has been a part of my life fo over a year now. I've even brought one of my friends over here.
I was specifically looking for something exactly like this site. I was working on a huge project for school at the time and wanted some inspiration. I went to google and searched for "ferrari forum" or something along those lines. Little did I know this site would take up WAY more time than I had planned! All for the better though - I love this site!
