    Hello:

Tried to get the soft top closed and would not work today!

    I found:

A: A black wire adjacent the driver's seat adjacent seat track severed.
    Repaired

B: Blown 30 Amp fuse in soft top hydraulics blown.
Replaced - Probably shorted when exposed wire contacted seat track.

C: Hydraulic fluid below minimum (System was bled 19 months/10K miles ago
    when seat potentiomer was replaced).
?Owners manual has no directions in the manual for topping off?

    Thanks,

To top up the hydraulic reservoir, fold the seats forward and remove the trim in the centre bulkhead. Remove the two bolts (#22) which will allow you to pull away the complete assembley(#25). This will reveal a 13mm spanner size blanking screw, undo this and you will then be-able to top up the reservoir (#21), it's easier if you use some form of seringe to inject the oil into the reservoir.

    Thank You!

I think I know what the 13mm screw looks like (is it "gold" in color at the top of the rectangular "gold" unit adjacent the fuses and relays), if you could resend the photo it would be very helpful.

    Thanks!!!

Yes the filler plug is "gold" in colour and is found roughly where the arrow points in the picture below........................

Stick a piece of plastic pipe on the syringe ~ 1/8" total diameter ... and fill it slowly ... otherwise it spills out. And use the correct fluid .... I think it's from Mercedes ... AM3, AZ3 .. ZM3 ... something like that. It's not any old hydraulic fluid.

    Regards,

    Pete

Thanks to all that responded - I got the fluid topped off and system bled.
    The top is working great!
