Saw this http://fantasyjunction.com/search.php?dd=www.fantasyjunction.com:auto:FJ167 at Fantasy Junction and it sounded vaguely familiar.

    Sure enough http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-288GTO-34555

Same S/N - $87,500 from Sheehan to $190,000 at Fantasy Junction? Can someone educate me as to which of these numbers makes sense? Not sure how long ago Sheehan had the car but IIRC its been since '01 when I came back to America.

    Looking forward to the comments.

Edit - just re-read the blurb at Fantasy Junction which indicates $160K spent in the last couple of years so maybe that is the difference?

    Cheers

the difference in price between 87.500 and 190.000 is maybe for the second seat that has been put in the car.................LOL

Don't get me wrong. Give me a weekend, that car and a track & I could die a very happy man. :)

Jacking the price up more than 2x in a year seems a bit extreme.

You can trust Sheehan to be "market correct" on pricing....Fantasy Junction?...well, it should all be clear in their name "fantasy".

I know this car...it is pictured in front of Goodman Racing, a few blocks from my home in Seattle. I have seen the car up close on a couple of occaisions when he showed it at our local community car show, and when he opened up their shop to our local Ferrari Club chapter. There have been a few previous threads on this site about the car, and you can search them out. Bottom line, the car was built for some guy in Texas, who was subsequently arrested by the Feds, and the car auctioned off. I think Goodman bought the car from Sheehan, spent a bunch of dough making it driveable (this is not a street legal car, but strictly track), and spent a lot of time sorting it out. Like any Ferrari that the previous owner spent big money on, this is probably a good value for someone looking for a track car.

If I remember correctly Goodman was asking 80 or 85 for the car when we did our tour last winter (or was that the winter before?).

This car seems to be the worst of both worlds. As a track car a CS would likely be faster, as a street car it would be a joke for anyone over 16 years old, no offense to any 16 year olds intended. At a price approching that of a real CS, and close to that of a real 288, it would be a foolish investment, IMO, but what do I know. NOT FOR ME THANK YOU!!!

Fantasy Junction seems to have a pretty good reputation generally - giving them the benefit of the doubt I've alerted them to the info on the Sheehan site and suggested that they might want to reconcile the information. I wouldn't be surprised if the description at Fantasy Junction had been provided by the current owner and I would venture to guess that it is a consignment car.

Seems to have had a godforsaken amount of $$$ thrown at it regardless of which site you believe. I might be a bit overcapitalized in my cars but now I don't feel so bad. :)

    Cheers
