oh i'am hurt i'am going to tell my momy now. how you find out about the brokendown car on the highway.. you know thats a true Ec brother when you stop and make sure he or she is okay on the side.
I'm posting hours late, but for the record, everyone in the EC group who hangs out together on a regular basis can vouch for Woodear. Slang is slang, and taken out of context all of it can be misconstrued as a racist remark (as everyone has already shown in this thread). I do, however, think we should chill a bit with any direct strong racial jokes/comments/words bc we can go INSIDE THE EC for that (thanks Brad). But for anyone who is interested, I'm not a WOP anymore, bc my papers came in last week. You can only call me greazy Italian from now on
Couldn't've said it any better myself- Chris is a great guy- and he absolutely isn't racist in any sense of the word.. But, people who don't know you (and us) might misinterpret what's said and get offended (as Brotha Bruce and Adam have)... All a misunderstanding I'm sure, no harm done.
Jesus christ Keith, out of all the mind numbing things I have read on the internt -- this ranks up there. I actually re-read this one sentence over and over again. I suggest that before you post anything ever on the internet, you write it down first and then read it. Hopefully you'll be able to catch why you sound like a freakin' imbecile (which I am sure you are not). And for the rest -- please descend from your ivory towers. I understand that perhaps using certain words is in poor taste and may, in hindsight, not have been a wise move. But somehow I doubt that 50 year old white guy driving a Ferrari and living in CT or LI is the poster child for diversity or liberal progressiveness. Somehow I doubt that an annual donation to the ACLU or the NAACP counts as social activism (nor does employing a mexican housekeeper or a sudanese nanny). In the words of the brilliant and eloquent David Chappelle "Nigar, please." -N
WTF, I go to the lawyers for a deposition and now I miss all the action. Chris is a Great guy...end of story
It's just scary that I'm almost sure I wrote something like that - about what I don't remember, last July or so. Really almost sure. And that's the only time I was ever meeting with lawyers for depositions, but I remember coming back here, feeling I had missed out on something, and saying that... So, either you remembered that and win stalker of the decade award, or you coincidentally wrote almost exactly the same thing around 8 months later. Either way it's pretty fwooking scary. And I'm not sure what to do with posts in which you call me hot, quotable, and say you love, well, doing things to me. I consider myself an open-minded person, but, well, take it easy man. You gotta save some of your energy for pchop.
Maybe so, but I can still call you a Ginzo Greasball Dago Guinea! Why? Well, because I'm one as well of course...
Nabbs: Not to bust your balls, but help me out. I know that Dodge Viper01 gets the ****e kicked out of him regularly here, but i didn't think his statement was idiotic. In fact, if i read him right (and he is a black man, no less, i think), he said, in effect, if the use of the 'N' word causes this much of an issue on an Internet forum, even if used between friends in a non-racist way, maybe it's just better to avoid using the word. Actually, not a bad thought. I won't purport to judge what anybody else here can or should say (or not say) but I certainly don't feel comfortable, as a "50 year old white guy from the 'burbs who drives a ______" calling anybody a ****** whether they are white or black. I do understand a little bit about the street (we have represented everybody from RunDMC and NWA to DeathRow Records, so I'm not playing the effete card here), but frankly, i personally have not earned the right to use the word, even in jest. Not trying to be PC here, or holier than thou, but unless i'm a moron, too, i'd appreciate some insight.
